Can the club deny him wages if he decides not to play? You’d think there has to be a mechanism to guard against that.

Yes. If he refuses to play, he won't get paid.

It's quite satisfying that there is basically no player power at this stage. We no longer need to sell because of PSR, the release clause has expired so we can name our price and the only actions the player can take are either self-defeating or to grow up and be professional. Nice to see and it's honestly a refreshing change from getting bent over left and right.

F*** him, let him sit in the stands. Winks can bring the Aperols, his wife can take some cute pickies and they can watch 11 men with some self respect do their jobs

Here’s the translation of the Sky Sport article titled “Bilal El Khannouss part au clash avec Leicester City !” (published on 27 August 2025):

"Bilal El Khannouss is heading for a clash with Leicester City!"

The tension is rising between the Foxes and their Moroccan mastermind. Here's the situation:

  • Things have turned sour between Bilal El Khannouss and Leicester City. Negotiations with Crystal Palace are already tough—Leicester are still awaiting a response after sending a final counter-offer this Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leicester continue to reject attractive offers for the Moroccan. sky-sport.ch

  • Furthermore, recent approaches from Saudi Arabia are swaying the English club's mindset—they believe they might secure significantly more cash from a Saudi Pro League team than from clubs able only to offer a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Consequently, the player feels his choice is being influenced. sky-sport.ch

  • As it stands, Leicester are demanding £26 million, plus £3 million in bonuses, totalling £29 million to release their attacking midfielder. Some clubs, notably VfB Stuttgart, are apparently willing to meet that valuation—but only via a loan with an option to buy. sky-sport.ch

  • Moreover, Leicester had initially indicated that a loan with an obligation to buy could be an option during a meeting on Tuesday—but reversed their position on Wednesday, dismissing any such proposals outright when one interested club submitted exactly that. sky-sport.ch

  • In any case, Bilal El Khannouss has made clear his desire to leave the club and isn't going to change his mind—even if forced to stay until the end of the transfer window. The midfielder reiterated during a meeting that he no longer sees his future with the Foxes and is even prepared to sit out the entire season in the stands in the Championship if necessary.

Smells of desperation from BEK’s mum.

It would be incredibly stupid for Bilal to go on strike if he doesn’t get his move. He has had a few flashes in the PL and would be forgotten very quickly. His strike would be more akin to Saido Berahimo than Alexander Isak.

Exactly this. When Mahrez did it, his credit in the bank was absurd. He'd won the Championship, and he'd won the Premier League as part of one of the most iconic attacking duos in years and had won a host of individual honours.

El-Khannouss is just potential at this stage and his only Premier League achievement is to stand out in a poor side. He's miles off being able to down tools and force a move to a top side playing in Europe like Mahrez was, and even his strike was over in a fortnight.

Also wants a move to protect his place in the Morocco team… but if he doesn’t get said move he’s happy to sit out the whole season…. Yup

the latter is nailed on to secure your place on the plane lol

Call his bluff. He has more to lose than the club on this.

Anyone else starting to miss the days of transfers before social media?

The first we'd know about a signing was the day they signed.

You'd hear a rumour around the ground we were interested in someone and you either heard he'd signed a few days later........or you didn't!

Simple really

Sounds like the little cvnt is getting desperate and it's near the deadline and he hasn't got his precious move.

"Please mummy don't let me play in the championship there are bad men there and Grant Hanley."

"Don't worry my boy you will soon be rolling ball under foot at Premier league trust me and if not you just say I don't want to play any more"

He's really not as good as he thinks he is hence why no one has bought him yet, let him rot in the U-18s if he wants, it will be his career he's ruining.

Didn't he do these d!ck head moves to come to us?

Yes . Potential bidders might well conclude that he’s  trouble and they can do without cvntishness in their squads

Hopefully it's rubbish......but if not I'm fed up with player power...who the hell does he think he is? Let him sit in the stands where he will get unfit and ruin his career with an obviously shitty attitude. Don't pay him either and he can train alone with his own trainer and not use the facilities at Seagrave. It's ridiculous honestly. Players have a contract to play. If they don't then let him rot. Player power and behaving like petulant kids needs to stop 😤😤

Isak can probably afford to go on strike, but he's literally leagues above. I don't agree with Isak but he has credit in the bank too.

If I was LCFC i'd call his bluff. Best part of 12 months rotting out the first team squad could really damage his career and image, hopefully his agent has a back up plan and can U-turn that.

Bang on. Even with Fofana he had a dream (well nightmare!) move to Chelsea sorted. As nice as Palace are doing, its not a dream move for him and other options are thin at best. He would be stupid to down tools.

“My Bilal went from the Anderlecht under 15’s to the Premier League in six seasons, stuff like that doesn’t go unnoticed”
