Guest Bilo Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 I'm sure that there were similar threats with Mahrez, and he was back inside a fortnight before getting his move to Manchester City a few months later anyway. BEK could either follow that and probably end up at a bigger club than Palace or follow through on his threat and end up with a mutual termination before joining Charleroi on a free.

The tension is rising between the Foxes and their Moroccan mastermind. Here's the situation: Things have turned sour between Bilal El Khannouss and Leicester City. Negotiations with Crystal Palace are already tough—Leicester are still awaiting a response after sending a final counter-offer this Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leicester continue to reject attractive offers for the Moroccan. sky-sport.ch Furthermore, recent approaches from Saudi Arabia are swaying the English club's mindset—they believe they might secure significantly more cash from a Saudi Pro League team than from clubs able only to offer a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Consequently, the player feels his choice is being influenced. sky-sport.ch As it stands, Leicester are demanding £26 million, plus £3 million in bonuses, totalling £29 million to release their attacking midfielder. Some clubs, notably VfB Stuttgart, are apparently willing to meet that valuation—but only via a loan with an option to buy. sky-sport.ch Moreover, Leicester had initially indicated that a loan with an obligation to buy could be an option during a meeting on Tuesday—but reversed their position on Wednesday, dismissing any such proposals outright when one interested club submitted exactly that. sky-sport.ch In any case, Bilal El Khannouss has made clear his desire to leave the club and isn't going to change his mind—even if forced to stay until the end of the transfer window. The midfielder reiterated during a meeting that he no longer sees his future with the Foxes and is even prepared to sit out the entire season in the stands in the Championship if necessary. Load of bollocks, prepared to sit out. Righhht. Call his bluff. No play time, no pay time no world cup squad. Sure, he cant be that thick lol.
Aleksz Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 The level in which agents have journo's in their back pockets this summer is abysmal. Ornstein, Romano... they're all at it. Bilal's camp have had Tavolieri wrapped around their finger all summer. Makes this "source tier" on here redundant when Journo's are just spouting whatever line a players camp is feeding them, and worse still paying them for it. 1

Take the Gibbs-White saga. Tottenham got the release clause from somewhere, Romano tweets 'here we go' and the next thing you know, MGW has doubled his wages to £160,000 a week with a sign-on bonus for the agent and a horse's head on the player's pillow.
ramboacdc Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 Does the loan window also close with the transfer window? Surely he won't sit and not play when he has a shot at the world cup squad and Morocco sitting pretty at the top of their quali group.
mozartfox Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 What airport lounge is he waiting in? The old Mahrez play book in motion. Must be some North African tradition.

We're obviously not going to reverse a position in a day and he isn't going to sit out with afcon and workd cup year Dorset did suggest that we'd changed our position due to the sales of McAteer and Justin, but agreed in that I doubt we'd agree to a loan with an option that doesn't give us any guaranteed money. 1

sdb Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 Never seen such a pathetically transparent journalist in all my life. Proper "well I was gonna dump you anyway" vibes. No one wants to buy your mates client at the asking price, fella. Accept it. 2

Search up "Romano Huijsen" tweets too - it's comical. Biggest example of a journalist being so far up a players agents arse that he's forgotten what daylight looks like - can only imagine how much Romano earned from that little PR campaign. Similar happening with Tavolieri and Bilal here.
ronnup Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 What is a worry is, that its probably smoke/fire and he wants out. Seeing your club sell everyone and buy nobody may have convinced him we have no hope of a promotion

The more they get wrong after practically staking their reputation on it, the quicker they end up in indykaila territory and the less clubs get paid by unscrupulous agents. It's undoubtedly far easier to do nowadays as they're all using X as a platform instead of having to get gigs at newspapers.
Fox-LMA Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 12 minutes ago, Bilo said: It's odd that the Championship gets such a lot of stigma because it's actually a very watched league, especially among some of the bigger names. Leicester v Birmingham on Friday will get far more attention internationally than Al-Ittihad v Al-Akhdoud the following day. It's largely a sheikh's plaything to perform sportswashing that hasn't really worked, as evidenced by empty stadiums and the fact that the PFI is lobbing money at Newcastle instead. Veiga had offers from Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli. Had he taken one of them, he could have been a Premier League, Scudetto or World Club Cup winner. He's just bagged a move to Porto. Not to be sneezed at, but there's no doubt that Saudi set his career back. Completely agree with all of this. I would say that the Championship is already Europe's sixth most watched league & is still growing if you look at the increasing TV money it gets. Wheres elsewhere in Europe, it's going down. Look at the disaster that happened with Ligue 1's TV rights. One club executive (can't remember who) said with absolute confidence that in five to ten years, the Championship will be seen as a kind of "EPL2" to international audiences. And yet the stigma remains.. You talk to many European fans about British football, it's EPL & nothing else exists. To tell a brief story, my parents live in Tenerife, & when I visit every year my dad & I take in a CD Tenerife game. When we were last relegated I went out there soon after & got chatting to some locals & a mixture of Dutch & German tourists outside of the ground. When the conversation turned to Leicester they reacted to me as if my dog had died. One guy even put his hand on my shoulder! Your right about SA. Thankfully this sportswashing adventure is already going the same way as it did with China. It's only happening because the Saudi Royal Family are fearful of possible revolution against them by their numourous & increasingly powerful youth demographic (they had a baby boom about 15-20 years ago). But they don't appear to be so interested in their local football, & other sports that they bought (like LIV Golf). Soon they will stop paying for it all, & it will wither away. We're already hearing rumours that they are going quiet on Newcastle... 1
MPH Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 It’s an empty threat. No player his age will sit out an entire season. Who would want to buy a player who hasn’t played for 12 months? just agent talk trying to push a move. 2
fox_up_north Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 See it less as agent talk and more mums chatting bollocks at the school gates. "My son has been scouted by Premier League clubs"

ithuriel Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 If he was to have stated he is prepared to sit out the season, surely thats contract breaking = no pay.

splinterdream Posted 27 August 2025 Posted 27 August 2025 Can the club deny him wages if he decides not to play? You’d think there has to be a mechanism to guard against that.
