But he can make changes, at least mix it up,

move players around. Playing the same shit players and getting the same results every game from them.  Managers with no experience at high level make these poor choices because they are in awe of players.

The only style of play is get the ball to the wingers slowly and don’t offer any support.  If that’s not what he wants then what is he coaching them and will it change.

It looks exactly like nothing has changed.

He has Ayew and Daka as strikers, Soumare, Winks and Skipp as midfielders he mixed it up made changes, the fact is our squad is not bothered and not good enough and don't play as a team.

We sold our best midfielder and everyone was happy in Ndidi

He has a massive job on his hands.

Squad needs a serious revamp in certain areas, but I just fear these current players will hang him out to dry.

Dear Marti,

Hope you’re well. We aren’t.

Moving forward could you please:

Start Nelson and persist with him. He’s proven at this level and an academy lad. He might take time but we can get behind him as opposed to Faes or Vestergaard.

Start Monga. Simple.

Drop Luke Thomas. He has never been strong or quick enough. He isn’t good enough and isn’t progressing.

Drop Soumare. Key absolutely key. He’s utterly useless and has no future here.

The last one I hate to say but without signings we are forced to…start Daka. Ayew is not a striker. We have no others. Daka is the only other option until we sign someone and at least he can stretch defences for Fatawu/Mav/Monga etc.

Oh and once Bilal is gone, give Alves and Page minutes.

All the best,

Leicester fans.

Some of this will surely change come September

I’m not going to slam the fella cos I believe he isn’t playing the team he’d like to pick.
if he is then he’s not who I thought he was.

It's been three games, he's only had literally a few weeks, and he's had zero backing in the market. All the fans who know what a shit show this club is under this ownership should be giving him the benefit of the doubt at this point

Fully appreciate that but he’s made several bad calls already and we are right to be concerned

He is working with a squad of players that either don't want to be here, or are not good enough for a promotion push at this level.

We knew this already though, so that is why he was not my first choice. We needed someone who would take a no nonsense approach IMO.
Already, he is starting players that have proven time and time again, that they are ineffective at any level.

I think unless we sign 5-6 players before the window shuts, then we will be midtable at best and perhaps even worse with how toxic the support will become.

He will get the usual 15+ games from me, but I think his success will be completely dependent on the transfers he now does. He won't get a tune out of this current squad, not with the way he plays or who he is putting faith in.

I’ll defend him for now, however I don’t think 95% of the forum would play Soumare.

The problem is, there’s no alternative. Cifuentes likes 2 in the centre rather than Enzo’s single pivot. With Ndidi gone there’s no one else. Skipp isn’t as good as Soumare which isn’t saying much and with Ndidi gone there’s nothing else. Even Enzo would struggle to play his system with this team. We are desperately weak in central midfield. Only Winks is good enough at this level but he needs a player with some physicality next to him.

The club is like a sports car on bricks, and all Marti can do is look at what could be, if he was given some wheels to get it going.

Nothing will change whilst the current owner is here, Rudders remains  running the show, and crap  players persist here on eye watering wages and contracts that no one else will pay, so we can't shift them on.

The whole ethos of the Club stinks, you can keep replacing the manager but nothing will change, expect the same shit week in week out till changes happen.

Rotherham and PNE matches are an embarrassing display of decline being allowed to continue, through neglect of owners, DOF, and idle players it turns my stomach and has been allowed to continue since BR left.

Poor Marti....he has one hell of a task....player power and attitudes has been as issue for a long time

No support in the transfer market and diabolical contract decisions and buys....

I feel a bit sorry for him.

He’s got a mostly rotten lot to work with.

I can even see why he’s picking players like Soumare. And at least he can see a mistake a change it - possibly too slowly for our tastes.

Not sure what’s happened to our pressing though, which seemed evident in pre season.

Nothing to do with the manager. The players are absolutley wank and hes not been able to bring a single player in besides a 40 year old reserve goalkeeper. Klopp wouldnt get a tune out of some of these

Name them (the bad calls) and what you’d have done differently. Not being antagonistic, I’d like to hear the alternative because I don’t see any with the players at his disposal.

My worry is he is persisting with a system the players at his disposal are incapable of playing that leaves the team exposed so starkly on the flanks.

My hot take is that as well as this poor fella been sold a wrong un, they might as well have kept Ruud in place if there was no outfield incomings. At least he had the measure of the squad and their personalities, now King Power have given Marti two months find that out for himself whilst the players dig him another grave alongside a number of others they have done the same too

See my prior larger post.

Add to it the poor captain choices (Justin, Hamza, Mavididi)

You think Dyche would be playing Monga? I think Dyche picks the exact same side today, except he probably would have dropped Mavididi for BDCR and Fatawu for McAteer. Would have been even worse to watch.

If he has got anything about him. He will call a meeting with Top and Rudkin Monday morning, and tell them that unless we sign 5-6 first team players, then we will be nowhere near promotion. He should also tell them that he will refuse to play some of the highest earners, as they are not good enough or up for the fight.

Problem is, I think he comes across far too polite and inexperienced at this level to demand this. Prove me wrong Marti. Your career and reputation is on the line too.

If the next game is the same players playing the same way then that’s it for me, he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

No style or ideas apart from slowly pass the ball to the wingers and everyone else stand back.  Is he happy with what Ayew is doing? Daka, JJ, Soumare? Is he shouting instructions waving at them. He’s just babysitting rich kids at this point,
