What are your moments of utter brilliance from an otherwise completely forgettable player? I'll start:

Ahmed Musa v Barcelona. Dribbles from the halfway line and scores. *it was a friendly

Jeff Bruma v Watford. Scored two 30 yarders in one game. Not done anything before or since.

Danny Ward (Yes, I'm going there) v Walsall. Saved all his penalties in the shootout. Fair play.

Danny Ward wasn’t average hes absolutely shite

After scoring two goals in the championship Jeff Bruma got 25 caps for the Netherlands. I don’t think in the context of the championship he was average.

Danny Ward did well in cup shoot outs vs others, including Wolves, so not really a surprise that he saved some vs league two opposition.

Good idea for a thread though.

Glad some other posters provided some great contributions because this was a depressing way to start a fun thread lol

Tete vs Villa.

Amazing that I've managed to almost erase that fella from my memory only two years later. I've seen pensioners behind tractors get past their man more effectively.

Paul Fitzpatrick screamer in a cup game at Notts County.  Absolutely pissed it down that night too

It really wasn't a screamer. But it did indeed piss it down.

Saints 9-0?

Under cover for that game. Open end terracing in the old days. That Notts County game and Barnsley away FA Cup (Joachim) particularly spring to mind for pissing it down.

Steve Thompson

The third goal.

One of my favourite moments as a fan, the euphoria and goosebumps.

I know we lost but that moment was incredible.

Whitlow drives forward now…

Given that i've gone through every page and not seen this mentioned, I feel like this is going to be controversial lol

All this talk of Nallis vs Leeds.... surely Steve Howard vs Leeds tops that for sheer importance?

Now.... I know average is harsh because I bloody love that man, but if you take the title literally "Average footballer" then that's exactly what he was no?

Way I see it you can be average but still be bloody important and a legend....
