Some absolute class posts on here from Leicester fans who 'get it'. Appreciate the moral support and I know there's plenty of tongue in cheek comments about you losing this game but fvck me we are completely on our knees as a club. It would be genuinely stunning if we snatch a draw with the squad we have available and it could be even worse come 10 August. Ultimately it doesn't even matter because we are dead and buried already. Most fans are not focused on the results on the pitch but on survival. We have no clue about the ability of many of the players we have because they've never played much football but we don't have a high quality academy anyway so the presumption is this is a potentially league 1/2 level team at the moment.

I know you guys have your own struggles which look worrying and you've experienced the admin years and League one before etc. I wouldn't wish it on anyone so hopefully you get sorted soon aswell even though it looks and feels bleak.

Feel your pain and wish you all the very best, you will get through this and get a new era eventually. You're too big an institution not to, not that thats much comfort right now but take solace in the fact this heinous era will be over in the not too distant future. Some of us to a lesser degree have the same feelings here, acknowledging still what we've previously been blessed with.

I still think you get a result, this is classic Leicester. Have a look at the nick Hull City were in on the opening day of the 2016/17 facing the reigning champions. Piers Charles hat-trick.

Although we think our club has problems it's not anywhere near the level that you're having to go through (not yet anyway). The admin year and a season in L1 have almost been lost in time as we've experienced so much success since.

At least you still have Pedersen to coach. Sounds like he's highly rated. And Self Esteem, I like her

Gutted to see the state of your club currently. Always had a soft spot for Wednesday. As a former winger I grew up inspired by Waddle, both for club and country. Around the same period in the early 90s you also had other iconic players such as prime time Pressman, Palmer, Pearson, Warhurst, Hirst, Bart-Williams, Sheridan, etc. Whilst the only success of note was a league cup, you were a joy to watch.

I also fell in love with Hillsborough on my first visit at our League Cup replay win against Boro. To this day I've never experienced a ground as loud as Hillsborough. The acoustics are phenomenal when there's a full house.

I also hugely respect the fact you travel in good numbers.

Cannot quite comprehend what Chansiri is doing. Such a shame he is able to treat your club that way. I wish you and your fellow supporters all the best for the coming season. It'll be incredibly difficult but I hope you can find a way to survive, and Chansiri eventually comes to his senses.

Best of luck for the future.

You're in such a mess at the moment, and it's not the fault of the players, the fans or the staff, it's entirely on Chansiri. You're stuck in a difficult position as fans because turning up to the games ultimately helps Chansiri with more match day revenue, but if fans feel like they don't want to turn up in protest, that can only harm the staff and players. I'm really not sure in this situation what I'd want to do, but I think I'd probably say Wednesday fans need to do their best to get to matches, at the end of the day if you're there you can make it absolutely clear who you support and who you don't and you are the lifeline of the club at this point, the fans, staff and remaining players are the only things holding the club together to face whatever is coming.

Really hope you see this through quickly, there is a possibility that if you can get a sale through quickly, you can still save the club.

I think on the whole our fans have an inability not to be loyal. We're heading for our 4th stint in league 1 in the last 23 years and Premless in 25 years. yet we're still getting 26k fans last year despite living under the tyrants ownership. I think it's all about to change though, incredible amounts of fans have completely lost hope and energy with it. The general feeling is that the only way to protest is to not put a single penny in Chansiri's pocket. So far almost everyone has completely boycotted buying merch, kits and tickets (apart from seasons ticket holders who bought them last Jan as Chansiri always begs the fans to buy early then spunks that cash grab up the wall as quick as he can). So now I think the main focus of most fans is to stay away. It's been made easier for some as 7-8000 of them don't have a seat anymore with the North Stand being shut. This evil man has not even looked after our wonderful stadium enough that is is safe for people to visit and support the team, he's let it rot like the rest of the club. We didn't even have hot water in that stand by the way. It's hard to know what's best to do but those fewer fans that can't face not going are really going to have to make some significant protests because that's the only way to keep the pressure up. No more money and plenty more coverage of protests.

No one knows Chansiri's aims now. It feels dystopian that he's holding onto the club as it slips into the abyss but the fear of fars for us is that he's lowering the wages and running costs as much as possible to run the club at a minimum maybe in league 1 or 2. The guy is bizarrely and demonically narcissistic. No one believes he is genuinely trying to sell the club. We've seen too many of his gaslighting lies over the years to believe it to be true.

Classic Chansiri that. For years he just abused fans verbally, blackmailed us at every turn, begged for money then told us it covers nothing, told us to sell our houses to fund our love for the club, laughed at our pain, gaslight us, called us customers, told us we are bad customers, begged for money again, lied, lied and lied etc. That response that he gave our local MPs is so on brand. Another classic Chansiri moment is when a major and significant fan group (that had been part of the club for years before he even arrived) wanted to meet and discuss concerns with him he just denied they existed and pretended he had never heard of them.

Anyway not gonna unload the misery anymore. I'll be back on to focus on, on the pitch matters and see if I can find any way in which we can steal 3 points and laugh all the way back to Sheffield...

I completely see that side of the argument, bleed him out. Then again, he's losing money isn't he? I wonder whether administration is what he's aiming for at this rate. Seems to me Chansiri doesn't actually care and a lot of his behaviour seemed to be out of spite of something.
Crazy to think some fans even bought into his "10 year season ticket" scheme.
I've heard so many stories over the last few years about the state of the club and it's been awful to watch, I have a long suffering owl mate and he's how you've described, just zero energy or hope for the direction of the club.
I wonder what will happen to the thousands that will lose their seat?

Well, IF we are going to dominate a game and then score a comedy own goal to lose 1-0 in the 90th, I'd rather it be Wednesday than anyone else!, if we play Wout Faes and Vestergaard you might just be in luck lol

Yep proper traditional club that deserves its place amongst the elite and biggest sleeping giant.

This has really upset me seeing this and is a good illustration of everything wrong with football.

I've never been fully sure on the fans owning clubs but this is a prime example of where it would work. You cannot have clubs at the whim of one man. You cannot have clubs left like this.

I'm honestly gutted for Wednesday as you're a proper historic club with a decent fanbase and that iconic old stadium. There really is no place like Hillsborough.

The key thing this season is probably going to be survival; not in terms of staying up as that's been made near impossible by Chansiri asset stripping the club, but for SWFC to have enough about it as a name for a better owner to buy him out. Even if that means taking an absolutely horrible season on the chin and going again next season in League One. Look at the mess Birmingham were in. Reading were days away from extinction.  Both are smaller clubs than Wednesday.

Best of luck for 44 of 46 games.

Interesting to think there's a worst off club in the championship than us, I'd be amazed if a full time appointment will be made into for this game. Sheffield Wednesday will struggle to attract anyone at the present, likely I'd expect some sort of backroom coach will still be in temp charge most likely end up getting long term anyway.

Although we have had by far the fastest and largest decline of any club currently in the Championship, there are plenty in there who would happily take on our circumstances in exchange for their own.

It'll be Pedersen, that deal seemed to have been pretty much done until Rohl's u-turn.

I’m sat here trying to think of something funny to say.. to try and make light of the situation.. to bring my satirical outlook  on life into it all but I just can’t do it. It’s all so horrific and I feel desperately sorry for Wednesday fans… :(

This is absolutely heartbreaking stuff and continues to make a mockery of some of the PSR fiddles, sanctions and deductions being banded about.

The football authorities have to act and fast,, last season it was Reading and now before a ball has been kicked it is Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday who are literally being run into the ground by their owners.

We have seen it happen to Bury, Macclesfield etc and the authorities largely sat on their hands and allowed it to happen, seems similar with Morecambe, and imagine if it was allowed to happen to a club the size, statue and with the rich history of Wednesday.

it is absolutely digesting and heartbreaking to see what is happening at Morecambe and Sheff Wed and the impact its having on the local communities and fans. This has to be the final straw and the authorities have to have a massive kick up the arse to get a grip on these ownership issues fast.

This is heartbreaking to read. Fans are powerless in this situation. The EFL are a disgrace in not doing anything apart sit and watch a massive, well supported club struggle. It's happening too many times. The frustration towards your owner and the league must be overwhelming.

But on a lighter note your last line is really possible, you're playing the ever obliging Leicester city.

Plenty of fans on here commiserating with Wednesdays predicament, whilst painfully ignorant to the fact that we’re standing on the edge of the same cliff.

Painfully ignorant, or not bothered enough to try to prevent us becoming the next Sheff Weds.

Given this thread topic (the fixture), and both clubs plights, any proactive fan base would be midway through the protest organisation for this game. Not here though- too many fan groups needing to protect their STs

Spot on ^

I posted the below in the King Power out thread last night.

Is there not an opportunity here to unite with the Sheffield Wednesday fans on 10th August in front of the Sky TV cameras by showing total disdain for our respective board(s)/owner(s)? This could be done with banners and 90 minutes of chanting and protests against those who are running both clubs into the ground.

I realise that Wednesday are currently in a worse situation than us, and their fans are likely to be much more vociferous against Chansiri than our "happy clappers" will be against KP/Top/Rudkin/Whelan, but if our fans don't do something to try to stop the ever increasing downward spiral we're in then it won't be too long before we are in the same situation as them.

Enough is enough and change is needed now. King Power out!
