As a genuine football fan it makes me angry to see this happening to you, so I can’t even imagine how you guys must feel. It seems to me that your owner is absolutely gagging for the season to start as gate money is possibly the only income he can rely on…

There wont be any as most are boycotting and the reason we are blackmailed into buying season tickets in December is so that he can have the money to spend quickly. So thats gone aswell. We arent funding him anymore.

Surely they would have to field a team, even if its academy players?

Failure to do so surely just means they just forfeit any points and we'll get 3?

gets worse by the day and the EFL just sit on their arses

Guaranteed they won't be sitting on their arses ready to throw the hammer down on us. PSR is backwards....help the club going bust, not actively trying to send us in a spiral...

3 points to us and a 3 nil win?

there’d be some lost match day revenue too, I’d imagine. We’d be keen for the game to go ahead.

Would be good to play to get some confidence going at the start of the season as well. Feel like a big win first game of the season could make a huge difference rather than not playing it

We know KPFC would hire 400 of the most expensive solicitors going to go after Wednesday for lost revenue, only for us to get 2p in the pound as a settlement when Wednesday go under.

I hope not! Unless there’s some sort of solidarity thing going with the first team squad?

I’m hoping, with the greatest respect to Sheff Weds, that the game goes ahead and we get a comfortable win.

Momentum is so important and if we can start well that could attract attention to the players we want to shift, highlight our potential to possible replacements and get some valuable points on the board.

The bigger picture of course is the situation at Sheff Weds which all football people should want sorting out as quickly as possible. Amazing to think of the time and effort that the authorities have spent trying to punish us when situations like this are ongoing.

no!

It's just such a Leicester City thing to do. In theory we should have one of the strongest squads on paper, even with no signings and all the waste of space we can't offload.

The opposition is riddled with problems, losing their manager, losing players left right and centre, not even able to pay their players and staff.

Only one team going to win when the two teams meet.....

Am I the only one worried of a repeat of the Hull City first game in the 16/17 season?

I mean looking at the line ups for that game they played most of their first team. Not sure where this parallel has ben drawn from.

Just the feeling rather than a direct comparison. We'd come off the back of the greatest season ever, and kept most of that team together going into the next season (Kante being the noticeable exception).

Hull had, (if memory serves me right 13 first team players available and some of those only just returned to the team/ rushed back).

There team was picked by who was available and players shoehorned into positions through necessity.

And we all know how well we took advantage of that situation.

We may be about to face a team playing whoever will still play for them, shoehorning a team together with players playing in positions through nessity ... and over 4 decades of supporting the mighty Foxes, I know how we like to surprise everyone on the day.

They would play the under 18s or something surely?

If they didn’t would we be awarded the 3 points?

I think we’d be awarded a 3-0 win, or they’d have to play a youth team.

actually means the EFL might have to actually do something, already happened with Bury and they didnt do naff all to help

then again its Rick Parry at the head of it all, if it isnt anything to do with Liverpool or the premier league he dont care

It's a shame really because a big feel good win on the opening day of the season would probably do us a lot of good but I can't see this game going ahead.

Haven't the PFA stepped in before? I doubt the EFL will want a first weekend cancellation. Get this one on, kick the can down the road but cannot this being off. They will put a team out, whoever it might be.

I think awarding us a 3-0 win would be bad most of the top teams in the league are going to spank them they will get injuries and have to play the academy I genially think we can put 5 past these.

I think it'll be 4 0. As terrible as this is for the Wednesday supporters, a hard loss on the opening day just fuels the outrage even more.

I suspect a good chunk of their fans would take a heavy defeat to add fuel to the anti Chansiri fire and if we're getting a points deduction, goal difference could play a big part in our season.

Really hope Wednesday get out of this disaster but I want a decent win for us on the opening weekend.
