They will want more than the £2 million we just got for Coady

reports are they want £5mil, as hes got a year left on his current contract

Swansea have had a bid of 4.5mil rejected

Is he worth the £5 mill? Only watched him in play offs and didn’t have the best games.

Looking at that video.. his finishing looks pretty decent, and he’s quick… nice touches inside the box on occasion but he seemed to get a lot of lucky bounces and I think first half of the season he might struggle until he  accepts he needs to be getting  in the box and staying there and just be somewhat of an old fashioned striker. he might get found out otherwise if he tried some of the moves he tried  when playing in the championship..

He’s got quite the story. Came out to his parents as gay and ended up getting kicked out and became homeless. Played in the homeless World Cup. Which I didn’t even know was a thing.

Fair play to him for kicking on from that

I watched him closely in the playoffs he’s not good enough and looked technically poor, and barely scored in the second half of the season

Yeah, I thought he looked crap in the playoffs, but he's a young striker, and they all go through patches of bad form, maybe his came at the wrong time of the season.  Essentially for £5mill I think it's a decent punt.  Even if he flops he should retain most if not that full value.  It's when the price creeps up if we are genuinely interested that it looks less interesting.

There's a bit of future planning too to remember.  Daka and Ayew are both in their last year now, so regardless of where we finish the season we could very likely go into the subsequent one completely devoid of strike options (jokes on how that's our current situation!).

Worst case scenario at this price is he flops and we've wasted £5mill plus wages. I think that's very unrealistic to be honest.  If we're promoted, and we don't want him, we'll recoup the lot, easily.  If we don't get promoted we'd likely keep him the second year as our only strike option and give him another go.  If he then flops the book value is £3mill assuming a 5 year contract, and loads of sides would take a chance on that.

And there's no limit to the upside.  So it makes a lot of sense.

I’d rather we go and look at Stassin, Mayenda or Frigan.

Stassin - May be out of our price range now.

Mayenda - Loan as I don’t think he’s ready for the Premier League.

Frigan - Cheaper option, reminds me of Kramaric

He’s the sort of signing we should be making. Much rather take a punt on the player who is on the way up and rather than someone using us as a retirement home.

We need a striker regardless so if we can get him for £5m I would do it. Ideally then sell Daka and get another in.

He’s decent and has potential. But how bad was some of the defending on that video.

this guy does a lot of in-depth scouting of young prospects and thinks Kone is the real deal

I am genuinely at the point where'd I trust some internet weirdos scouting over our own.
