Theres no way you can start Ayew as a striker this season. Has zero pace whatsoever to get behind. Would of thought he’d be used more in Bilals behind the striker role when/if hes sold

He does lack pace but would be clynical at this level would rather him as an impact sub for Kone though

Impact sub?  I think you just mean sub.

Not sure pace in behind is going to be that important in Marti's system and in any case most teams will be parking the bus against us.

Needs pace to be able to press properly though

**** me, bet Rudkin reads this and gets excited that McBurnie is available.

Rudkin has £50k a week for the next 4 years with McBurnie's name on it.

I don't know what people see in him to base this on. Guy next to me on Sunday said he was happy to see him up top because he's a natural finisher.

He's shown no movement, finishing ability or desire.

As raw as Vards when he first came in. If not more. Absolutely should be doing this sort of deal, we’ve not done as many recently because of where we were but in doing this deal, with the lads “rawness” he might need a season or two to bed in. Vards came in (if I remember rightly) with Nugent and Wood (post Jan) covering - do we have the same support this time.

"Wycombe Wanderer's young Ivorian striker has today confirmed his move to South Wales."

That would still be hearing something, so I wouldn’t be wrong!

Ayew, natural finisher, lol

Jordan "scored double figures once in my life and it was in Ligue 1 over a decade ago" Ayew? lol

"Sky Sports can confirm a late bid by Leicester City was rejected by The Chairboys, on the grounds that Jordan Ayew and a packet of skittles would have negatively impacted their PSR calculations for the season."

It is incredible how some people view the game.

There's a bloke near me who thinks the only important thing for a striker is pace. Loves Daka. Thought Musa was treated unfairly. Thinks Ulloa is a carthorse etc etc.

Ayew has plenty of genuinely good attributes needed to be a moderately successful striker at this level. But he's slow, doesn't press, lacks a goalscoring instinct and isn't a great dribbler.

He'll be absolutely perfect to bring off the bench. Someone that can look after the ball, draw fouls, bring our talented wingers into play etc.

Who is actually still in for him since that BBC article saying Swansea are unlikely to get him? Open goal for us surely, but I would suspect we need Ndidi out first which could be an issue given how many times he's u turned.

Did we have any kind of sell on for KDH? Might give us some funds for this.

The figures quoted would suggest that Chelsea haven't made any profit, so no money for us.

Bit like some muppet reeling off every one of Patson Daka's positive underlying stats and refusing to acknowledge he doesn't score ****ing goals.

Surely Preston and QPR can't pay that kind of fee. Confirms my thinking that he's ours if we actually want him.

We don’t need to generate funds for £5m…. For a player in league one, if we did, we would probably be in a worse state than Sheffield Wednesday………
