Guess what they are all still here stinking the gaff out whilst we added the likes of Skipp, Reid and to a lesser degree Ayew last summer which has only made the situation worse. Years of mediocre recruitment of players on inflated fees and bloated contracts has come home to roost, the one person who cannot be held to account is Marti who know has to cobble together a competitive side from what is here and how he is being directed to utilise the resources at his disposal. Some selections will have one eye on departures and having players in the shop window. I really feel for the manager given the shit show of a squad he has inherited as a result of piss poor recruitment and an inability to move on players. So why isn't he starting Nelson? he is choosing to play players instead of him who don't want to be here. Marti picks the team?

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 We’ve had quite a positive window when in comes to getting rid at least when compared to recent windows. So if we can keep Fatawu surely that is the priority? 1

Les-TA-Jon Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 Are people still losing their minds over Nelson not starting? It's no mystery is it: 50+ game season - Nelson, Vestergaard, Okoli, Faes will all get plenty of game time Nelson had an injury during pre-season and may be regaining full match fitness/sharpness It's the first competitive game of Marti's, at home, in a weird situation vs Wednesday Does he go with the young and inexperienced CB or the experienced pro? 4
EastAnglianFox Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 If we lose BEK and Fatawu and replace neither, would it be to harsh to say that the asset stripping phase has begun? 2

It cannot happen! If it does there simply has to be comminucation from the club essentially accepting we're rebuilding and we aint getting promoted. You can't do shit like that and say nothing otherwise you're no better than Chansiri. 2

Marti picks the team? If marti wants deadwood players to move on so he can invest some of the income then he’s better served picking them. Players who are left out invariably see their value drop. Of course once we get to the back end of the window that changes. 1

Spudulike Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 Incredible watching his pace on Sunday after going through that ACL injury. They've done a good job on him. Hope it lasts 1

The post above the above says it all “blame the manager” same old, same old The bloke has been here 5 minutes and he’s already getting it, and the reply is spot on “HOW MANY TRANSFER WINDOWS ARE WE GOING TO GO THROUGH BEFORE THE 💩 IS MOVED ON” ???? A STATIC SNAILS PACED CLUB STUCK IN QUICKSAND WITH 2 IDIOTS WHO CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO SHOW ANY EFFORT WHATSOEVER OVER HOW MANY WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY ?? FOREST WENT UP, KEPT THE BEST AND MOVED THE SURPLUS ON THERE AND THEN. DONE !! SELL THE CLUB TOP AND JUST FU** OFF !!!! I CANT WAIT FOR THE DAY 1
jayfox26 Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 I can't see Everton being able to afford Fatawu when they've just spent big on Dewsbury Hall. I wouldn't even consider any bids below £40m and even that's low considering his ability and how high his ceiling is. 2

He does seem to have some decent insight on certain topics, yes he may have played last few games of last season but does not mean he hasn’t had some sort of issue in pre season, that has forced the club to monitor and manage his workload, would rather we are cautious for a few games than risk losing him long term. Fair play that the club are being proactive to protect players which wasn’t always the case under Rodgers for example.

It says it's the straw that breaks the camel's back and leads to A) a full squad turnover once the wastemen like Faes and Soumare realise we're stuck in the Championship for the forseeable and force moves and B) a tipping point in getting the majority of the fanbase turned against KPFC steering the ship into every iceberg they can find. I've already passed the point of even caring what happens this season, the club needs change and this could be the lightning rod to kick the wider fanbase up the arse. He's our most popular player, I doubt he wants to leave, and if he does go it's going to be a board decision, not his. Fatawu is that important to our season. I personally think we can afford to lose BEK given we have a few options that can play centrally (Ayew, McAteer, Mavididi), but if Abdul goes we're relying on Stephy and a 16 year old kid to cover our creativity on both wings. We're done as a serious force if that happens. This happening in mid August would be very typical of us - we seem absolutely obsessed with hindering ourselves and making it harder than it needs to be. Where the **** were all these links two months ago?

Everton have been after Dibling for ages, so naturally move onto other targets when it doesn't materialise....I'm not sure how that's the clubs fault?

Winks? Daka? El Khannouss? Literally nothing, not a single thing happened here for about three months after we got relegated and as a result we will be on the back foot and scrambling around. We will then panic and make stupid decisions (like Edouard) and rinse and repeat.

Daka - nobody he wants him at the club anymore, so not great loss if he leaves? In fact most actively want him out the club. BEK - He has a release clause Not a single thing happened since the middle of May when we got relegated I agree - but not sure what exactly could be done to stop clubs wanting these types of players. Not sticking up for the club, just objectively trying to understand your point.
