Is he the kind of player who might not give us his best if he is not allowed to go? Sounds like the logic of a well run club, not Leicester. 2

JimJams Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 (edited) £51kpw according to salary sport which adjusts for contract renewals and clauses, unlike some other salary sites. Still doesn't mean it's correct though! https://salarysport.com/football/player/harry-winks/ Capology however has him at 90kpw Edited 12 August 2025 by JimJams

TommyK Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 Seeing as we bought him for not that much and when we were relegated. I'd be surprised if he was on 90pw. Unless he got it in his contract for promotion.

But they also list him as on the same money in the champ for us as in the Prem.

I very much doubt he would renew at this point on anything less than his existing terms and in my opinion he ain’t worth north of £50k in the Championship and £90k per week should we go back up. If the numbers are correct as previously reported it’s bloody criminal to be paying players of his calibre more than £30k a week in the champ and £50k per week in the premier league.

Ian Nacho Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 I would be open to leaving but unfortunately given the current state of our midfield, he's currently likely to be out best option. 1

Definitely time to panic. I think wages play a massive part in this, I bet both of those players are on a fraction of what Wilf was earning, if Wilf was on £40k per week we could have commanded a bigger fee. Clubs will pay a higher fee for players if wages are lower, we have hamstrung ourselves by having players like Wilf, Justin, Winks, Coady, Faes, Vesty, Soumare and Daka on big contracts so we then have to accept low ball offers on fees to try and make the deals work. 3
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 August 2025 Posted 14 August 2025 Interesting he didn't celebrate when he scored yesterday. For me he is a must keep if we want a chance of promotion. 2

Didn’t clap the fans when he came out to warm up on Sunday, didn’t clap when he went down the tunnel after his interview with Sky post game. Then obviously celebrated the way he did yesterday. He either wants to leave or has a big bee in his bonnet with us fans for not backing him last season, or both.
K789 Posted 14 August 2025 Posted 14 August 2025 Literally cannot stand the guy. Seeing his face in a Leicester top riles me. Get him gone asap

To be honest the bee in his bonnet should be with Ruud who didn't play him and whom he fell out with and also Cooper didn't really play him did he? Not sure why the fans are being roped into his frustration. He didn't exactly stamp his authority on many games in the PL last season either.

He was telling people in the back end of last season he would never play for the club again. Its not just the managers he has an issue with its all of the upper management aswell as they in his words allowed the treatment to happen to him and didn't back him.

He seems to have handled this situation pretty poorly and immaturely I think and it doesn’t reflect well on him. If he wasn’t class at this level I’d say get rid, but he’s a cut above our midfield which is shit at the moment. We don’t know the fully story to be fair only what we hear

Not sure upper management getting involved with a disciplinary matter seemingly instigated by the then manager would be a particularly good idea. Ruud was crap, but that would have totally undermined him. 1

Unless there was an agreement in place around him commuting when he signed which ruud ignored and then the board didn’t step in and say there was an agreement in place? All ifs and buts I know but don’t put anything past them!

Otherwise you completely undermine the manager 1
Fox-LMA Posted 14 August 2025 Posted 14 August 2025 Get the feeling he's only playing well at the minute to justify himself to a future employer. I wonder how bad he will be after the window shuts, & his agent hasn't found anyone to pay a fee, & take on his gargantuan contract.
