He was good in an incredibly poor Cardiff side and injuries aside he just inexplicably didn’t get a chance at Huddersfield. I don’t think 15+ for both goals and assists is an unrealistic target for him, provided we have a fit, senior striker.

 

After relegation in 22/23, I predicted KDH would be Championship POTS, he didn’t actually winner as Summerville did; I feel pretty similarly with Alves here. 

And I feel the same as I did about kdh with Sammy. So let’s hope we’re both right!

To echo previous statements here, this season is key for Alves and Braybrooke, both players we all hoped would be further along in their development than they currently are (for various reasons). Barnes and KDH have proved it can be done, I hope they both get the opportunity to break through...

Needs to stay fit and have a manager who believes in him.

Alves sums up the difficulty, patience and resilience needed to make it in the game and shows how non-linear the pathway is. 

 

At 15/16 I had high hopes for him similar to Monga. He has had injury set backs, confidence knocks with squad selection and has had to go out and graft it out on loan but he's always seemed to overcome adversity. 

 

Feels this season is going to be his right of passage and he fully deserves his chance. He has given the blood sweat and tears to play for the team and is the exact opposite of some of the fraudulent personalities we've had to put up with over the last few years.

 

I'm so glad he is getting his opportunity and really hope Will nails it this season.

Yeah, kind of feel that if we were not relegated, he would probably never have broken through and ended up being released and forgotten about.

 

Us dropping down to League 1 will hopefully give him that opportunity to break through and hopefully flourish.

 

Has looked good thus far pre season.

 

He seems to have been around for ages despite him being so young!

People were raving about Carr (rightly so) yesterday. But I think Will definitely deserves some plaudits for his performance yesterday. He was quite happy to take on his fullback on the inside and outside. Picked his moments to shoot rather than just aimlessly blasting it into defenders or over the bar (sound familiar?) and put in some really good balls which on another day if we had a good striker could have ended in goals. I really hope he gets his chance this season.

Did well yesterday, first game l have seen him, since the Huddersfield cup game, last season, where he didn't play that well.

I once went down this rabbit hole when i noticed these shinpads start to arrive and the evidence shows shin pads do help against mild to moderate impacts like bruises and wounds etc . But if you get properly two footed in the shins, the pads are the least of your worries anyway. You’re still getting folded like a deck chair and probably ending up with a nasty multiple knee ligament tear so shin pads are least of players worries they would rather the mobility with risk versus reward etc

Alves and braybrooke seem to have a connection we have been missing in midfield. From the few clips i've seen, a decent striker is going to have a great time benefitting from their creative abilities. Plus, Louis Page seems to have filled out a bit, i reckon as the season goes on those three are going to be nailed on starters. We need to focus our recruitment at the back as it cannot be possible for faes, okoli, nelson to all stay.

Yes I can see why some players don't like them but a simple heavy bruising or scrapping down the bone can leave a player missing many games which is not desirable.

Playing for Cardiff U21’s currently nowhere near their first team - remember the name because he should get absolute dogs abuse if he ever comes here as an opposition player! 

Not exclusively for the tackle but also for the way that him and his family acted at the time- disgusting to witness!
