I said not a chance back in 2022-23, I'm never being that confident over something like that again.

- Team is constantly being weakened as this window progresses

- 1 signing with nothing else on the horizon

- No real firepower in the Striker position

- No fresh faces to energise the changing room

- Same bitter individuals here, running contracts down

- Pending points deduction

Not a lot to be positive about, for me although we got the win - that Sheffield Wednesday result didn't feel too convincing against a team in arguably worse shape then us!

They're in a far worse position than us that is not arguable lol can't pay the tea lady on time and are refusing to pay the players travelling expenses.

At least they didn't £23m for Oliver Skipp lol anyone whose thinking that's a great way to run a football club needs their heads looking at.

You're right, I'd much rather be in their position.

OFFICIALLY FFS

Said before, the club were briefing people that they foresee a 4-6 points deduction. Which suggest the level of breach is at Forest/Everton levels rather than anything hugely over that. They'd have decent grounds to fight that if the breach is a similar figure.

If the breach is at Forest/Everton levels then how much are we talking about?

What level of funds do we need to raise from player sales and wage reductions?

I'd keep an open mind on it if I were you. As it's a case by case basis it could be anything or nothing at all, the relevant bodies seem to make it up as they go along.

30 is silly talk though that's administration and remaining in administration for a lengthy period of time level deduction. Absolute worst case would be 12 you'd think with the best case being nothing.

I honestly think getting away with 0 points is more likely than 12. I don't think we'll be that lucky again, but 12 would be incredibly harsh.

Good god this points deduction stuff is enough to put you off football isn't it.

This isn't what we fell in love with; clubs paying average footballers untold riches and shitting themselves over nonsensical financial constraints based on nothing.

Big clubs steamrolling over these very rules with impunity whilst lesser clubs are penalised.

It's so sickening what the national game has become and it's still happening. Despite the FA bellowing shite into the ether, we will have games abroad in no time too.

Who has steam rolled over the rules. If you are referring to Manchester City they are receiving a verdict in October. Which wont be the end of it as there will be an appeal from which ever side loses.

I mean obviously we can. However I believe we have a good enough squad, and I’d optimistically say manager, that I don’t think we will. Obviously a lot can change in the next 2 weeks and we need to factor in the points deduction, but this feels like knee jerking to a changed team losing to an in form team from the division below away in the cup. It happens. Doesn’t make us relegation fodder overnight.

Said at the time that was a red flag. Needing them to go down to 10 men having played just one friendly all summer. Do I expect us to wipe the floor with teams in this league? No. Did I expect it against them? Absolutely, and so would they.

My initial gut reasoning on a "no" for this was actually everyone's favourite statistic...possession! Whilst it is certainly far from being the most useful measure of performance, I think it does tell something of a story, and if we generally average 55%+ I just can't see that failing to get enough points over a season to survive. The weight of that pressure will be telling in enough games even if the overall play is leaving a lot to be desired.

Decided to have a scan back over the last 9 years of Championship football to see what the highest values were for relegated sides. Only Derby in 2022 with 51.2% and Wigan in 2017 with 50.7% had average values above 50%. Derby of course incurred a big points deduction that year so wouldn't have gone down without that.

I think it would take a combination of continued underperformance, selling of best players without replacement in the next 2 weeks, and a hefty deduction for us to go down.

If we get into more disarray, which is possible, I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion.

KP will fcuk off then and I will return to watching them live.

And if they are replaced by someone of the level of the Morecambe, or Wednesday owners....?  Lets face the committee deciding on 'fit and proper owners' are not the sharpest knives in thebox!

Someone posted on here about finishing 8-10 and thats exactly where I had us before a ball was kicked

Personally think that wouldnt be that bad a season, on the condition that Marti is still here next summer and over the course of this season we can see a plan from him that will do us good in the years to come

So to answer the original question, No, I dont believe we will 🤣

Chelsea selling their own hotels and will womens club back to themselves?

3 years chasing Man City whilst they compete at the top end uninhibited.

Man United washing cash away.

This isn't a fair process, is it, Manuel?

Palace being kicked out of a competition through dual Ownership but the Saudi PIF having fingers in multiple pies.

Will anyone doom mongering in this thread chuck a tenner on us being relegated and donate the winnings to LOROS? I bet they won't :)

Odds are rubbish sadly with the points deduction talk. 7/1 is shite.
