LCFCJohn Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 (edited) A draw would be a very good result, I don’t see a win as a realistic outcome. Really, we just need to avoid the embarrassment of double relegation (although it would expose those running the club for what they are), so just need to get to about 60 points (in case we do get slapped with a deduction down the line). Noahfence Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 They’ll be bang up for this our players won’t. Simple as that really. least Ayew will hold onto the ball too long to win a foul though. That’ll help.
LVFox Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 Will be tough this, Charlton will be a difficult place to go to this season. I don’t see Bilal being involved, can see it being. Stolarczyk Ricardo Okoli Faes Justin Soumare Winks Fatawu Ayew Monga Daka 1

It’s staggering, going from European football, to hoping you can get a draw at Charlton away. The fall of this football club is the most shocking decline in English football history. 4 1

Until more people, Aiyawatt and those in the club as well as too many of our fans wake up to this reality, it is unfortunately where we are. 2
Pliskin Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 The team will be Stolarczyk Justin Okoli Vestergaard Thomas Winks Soumare Fatawu Bilal Mavididi Ayew I full expect Bilal to play until he’s 100% gone. I don’t think the deal with Palace is as far down the line as the media is suggesting. 1
Edingleyfox Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 With 9 new players Charlton will be fresh and driven. Leicester have looked lethargic and slow and if that happens they will get punished.

They will just want it more, that’s literally all any team will need to beat us this season, just want it more and we’ve lost, it’s as simple as that. Which is why, I think we will get relegated. Just look at us, no new signings bar a 3rd choice goalkeeper, and no signs of any signings coming in at all….. we’ve got a core of the squad who don’t want to be here, and a massively fractured fan base. It doesn’t matter who you have on paper, if you turn up anywhere in the league and can’t be arsed, you’ll get turned over…. Not through quality, but because the championship is about fight, it’s about wanting it more than your opponent, which is why it’s such a competitive league. We simply don’t have any fight whatsoever so we’re easy pickings. I genuinely can’t see where our next three points are coming from….. this season will just be a repeat of last season, and I can’t see anything other than a relegation fight. With his lack of pace, he's simply a sitting duck in this kamikaze system being deployed by Marti.

He’s just going to pick the same team week in week out until he eventually gets sacked. Probably rotating that CM….

I would say Marti is better than Ruud as he sees when things need changing and does it. Ruud stood there with the empty brain look. Marti is being let down by the players that are either lazy, not bothered and lack enthusiasm so his tactics are falling apart as it relies on being on the front foot and pressing. We looked decent in preseason and looked structured, but just with some work. But some players have given up already and that isn't helping. New players will help massively but he's come at the wrong time and getting anyone in seems a pipe dream. Some young talented players who want to prove they are good enough is what we need on loan. Some fresh enthusiasm Ruud was just poo Edited 23 August 2025 by fox_favourite

He’s trying to pick the better players, but they just don’t give a ****. This club is so rotten at the moment. 1
VLC86 Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 Need to show our support for our Turkish brothers at Besiktas today. Doing a fine job of recruitment. 1
honeybradger Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 Monga needs to start with Mavididi up front. We need a win and that's our best way of getting it.
Kierzz Posted 23 August 2025 Posted 23 August 2025 We will be a different side with Ricardo in the starting 11, a bit like last season and the season before that. Hopefully he's fit to start and play 60mins but this might be a week too soon. 1
