He’s one of the biggest earners at Feyenoord, but it’s still the Eridivisie, so looks to be on c. £40k. Surely we could match that with an increase in the event of promotion to closer to £50/60k isn’t blowing our budget out of the water. Especially when the likes of Winks & Soumaré are stinking out the squad on close to £80k in the championship Winks and Soumare shouldnt be used as a measuring stick for any wages going forwards, their contracts are horrific. £50k a week for a known injury prone player like Stengs is still a lot. 6

Very true, trying to justify it to myself its not as bad as being made out…. Still not very good either though!
JimJams Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 If he's on 40kpw and they want him out then there's no reason to pay any more than that on a loan. You could even undercut that if they're desperate to find a potential eventual buyer. 1
Molson Canadian Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 (edited) Rijnmond then claimed: “Feyenoord will be willing to settle for a bit less if it also means they can get rid of his multi-million dollar salary.” Stengs medical ‘shouldn’t be a problem’ Stengs missed some games for Feyenoord due to injury last season, but has stressed himself that injury problems for him are rare. He failed a medical with Charlotte FC last year, but sources reportedly close to Stengs say that won’t be an issue this time around if he is to move over the next week or so. Stengs said: “I think I’ve been fit for seven years. A little more (unfit) last season, but people forget that I played seven years straight. It’s being exaggerated.” Edited 25 August 2025 by Molson Canadian

Spudulike Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 We shouldn't be anywhere near this unless it's a cheap loan with his host club still paying a large portion of his wages. Red flags all over it. Don't do it Rudders.

Lad1966 Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 What’s happened with the guy from Portugal? He sounded more promising. Didn’t he started to follow us on social media?

Just one bad season and often injuries stem from each other. If he’s truly shaken them off then I get his sentiment. If however, there’s still lingering issues he’s using painkillers for, that’s a different scenario

I’m definitely mates with the cripple as we call him. ”Nah he’s fine, that’s just a silly nickname we give the brittle boned limping sicknote. ”Yeah he definitely won’t fail a medical in the next week or so. Any more than that and he’ll be back in hospital mind.” Edited 25 August 2025 by when_you're_smiling
trooky Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 Huge risk, he had 3 different injuries in 24/25 and missed 35 games🤔.
Jimmy Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 is he only a wide player or can he play as a 9 too?

filbertway Posted 25 August 2025 Posted 25 August 2025 We have so many contacts at Charlotte. Wonder if they suggested Stengs for a laugh to see if Rudkin falls for it 1
