Winks and Soumare shouldnt be used as a measuring stick for any wages going forwards, their contracts are horrific. £50k a week for a known injury prone player like Stengs is still a lot.

Very true, trying to justify it to myself its not as bad as being made out…. Still not very good either though!

If he's on 40kpw and they want him out then there's no reason to pay any more than that on a loan.  You could even undercut that if they're desperate to find a potential eventual buyer.

Rijnmond then claimed: “Feyenoord will be willing to settle for a bit less if it also means they can get rid of his multi-million dollar salary.”

Stengs medical ‘shouldn’t be a problem’

Stengs missed some games for Feyenoord due to injury last season, but has stressed himself that injury problems for him are rare.

He failed a medical with Charlotte FC last year, but sources reportedly close to Stengs say that won’t be an issue this time around if he is to move over the next week or so.

Stengs said: “I think I’ve been fit for seven years. A little more (unfit) last season, but people forget that I played seven years straight. It’s being exaggerated.”

We shouldn't be anywhere near this unless it's a cheap loan with his host club still paying a large portion of his wages. Red flags all over it. Don't do it Rudders.

I dunno other than the year he acknowledged, he had one bad injury the rest of the time about 10% of the season off, that’s not that bad really is it?

Still managed to miss the majority of last season with 3 seperate injuries

Yeah but like he said, that’s not common from his career. Just one bad season and often injuries stem from each other. If he’s truly shaken them off then I get his sentiment. If however, there’s still lingering issues he’s using painkillers for, that’s a different scenario

“Yeah, yeah. I’m definitely mates with the cripple as we call him.

”Nah he’s fine, that’s just a silly nickname we give the brittle boned limping sicknote.

”Yeah he definitely won’t fail a medical in the next week or so. Any more than that and he’ll be back in hospital mind.”

is he only a wide player or can he play as a 9 too?

Mostly as a 10 in the last couple of years.

Of his last 50 games, 30 were as a 10. 10 were at rw and 10 in CM.

Actually excited by this, If we can get a player with the bit between his teeth who has alot to prove and wants to be here for 5M thats well worth the risk for me.

Sounds good, certainly better value than the 113.6m we spunked on Michael Golding

Can't believe Michael Golding is our record signing.
