Unlike the previous loans JJ will catch a 2nd wind at Leeds I fear. The change in scenery, management, coaching and a vibrant fan base will have him performing out of his skin.

happy to get the much needed cash for him but I really worry about all these players going to our rivals and doing one over us when we play them next.

Bar Ward...he'll help us out if he plays against us

Just me, but personally I think you can divide his time here into two parts, before his injury getting up and down the pitch surrounded by better players and after a kind of luke warm version who has lost all sense of positioning. When the opposition play is on our left side he drifts over to the penalty spot, one good ball and we’re done for.

Was better before the injury.

But that’s just me.

Still got to laugh how someone so instrumental to our relegation has managed to stay in the Prem himself!

Good business for us though. He wont re find forn at Leeds because he'll spend most his time on the bench.

If we were to go up again it just shows you how difficult it is for a promoted club to buy anyone decent.

Justin was absolutely horrific consistently. What irked me the most with him was that he always played that safe ball back inside when potentially in good attacking positions.

He couldn't defend either and went through a spell last season where you wondered if he had completely lost all ability.

Possibly the deal of the season this.

He'd have been on a decent wedge and to get a fee for him is immense.

A respected senior pro that I remember cheering the team as they individually returned back of the pitch during his own injury.  Although he's not the same player post injury, I fear we're losing the players that actually gave a shit.

Wish him all the best.

I think people are overestimating the 'give a shit' factor on this.

He was and is professional. However his contract is running out. We run the risk of keeping a player for a year whom is good for a 3 month lay off at least every season and no longer performs above 7/10.

The likes of him and McAteer are clearly decent lads but they have also taken the first bait offered to them for an exit. There's more antics played agents than most would think.

He's served his time here and on the whole did okay. Which is fcuking rarity over the last few years.

It's also a lot easier to shift lads who are quite clearly good eggs

From a business position it makes complete sense and is actually a good deal. But he was one of the very few who actually gave a crap, and whilst no longer the player he was, still one of the better players in this squad. Had a really, really poor spell last year but it's grossly exaggerated by some. Whether he played or not, that right hand side was completely overrun under multiple managers. Same for him supposedly always turning backwards, it was the same whoever played there because it was clearly instructions from the manager.

Anyway, wish him the best but hopefully we can shift VK and then get Aluko involved at full back

Fair assessment.

Last year we’ve got a good fee and move on. That’s exactly how the club should have been dealing with all the others that left on a free. We just need to be better at then bringing fresh blood in to replace.

Just push on my point - which I have annoyingly put in two posts.

If LCFC turn down the transfer, you end up with a disillusioned player with a year to run on his contract. If you want to retain the player, you almost certainly have to sign him to a new contract or you face them being an arse, the losing them for nothing or minimal amount in January.

Don't think you'd have got that with him as he's noted for his professionalism and with all the injuries, I think there is some element of him owing us. Training alone weeks before pre season started under Enzo. And also, he only has a year left so he if had a decent season, he then gets better options that Leeds on a free.

Anyway, it's still a good deal all round I think.

I wonder if they forgot to put that he *used to be* highly regarded...

'Highly regarded' = has played international U21s and was supposed to be very good but hasn't actually done anything, we are hoping we can get a tune out of him

Nothing to do with his recovery from injury and being one of the first when relegated in 22/23 to have his agent trying to get his name out?  Hence why Enzo didn't play him a lot in August.

Enzo favoured Doyle for most of the season over JJ, although JJ got himself back into contention later in the season following Doyles injury.  Don't think Enzo rated JJ, and i was surprised that Cooper dropped Riccy in favour of JJ + Vic.

Just remind everyone that he was called up for international  duty once and only lasted til half time and then was taken off,  never to be seen again at that level. I used to think he came on the pitch before kick off with an illuminated vacancies sign which he then stuck in the pitch on the side he was supposed to be playing. That is OK at a Blackpool B&B, but definitely not in the Premier league or even in the Championship.

He was due to be called up for the England squad in 2021 ahead of that summer's Euros but did his cruciate against Brighton in the FA Cup.

He got a full England cap against Hungary, in 2022.

He went off injured.

Interesting interview in the Mercury today. Certainly explains we all noticed many players not performing to their best in games. If a potential move is on the cards it’s going to be a distraction no matter how you try to deal with it. This is a big week!

we’ve gotta get thru it as far as selling players but if we don’t buy anyone it’s going to feel negative and pessimistic among players who have stayed.
