Popular Post kingpowerout Posted 1 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 1 September 2025 We would still need a central creative force in midfield on top of signing JJ. he brings the energy to win the ball back, drive forward and give the ball to the creative element. Will likely chip in with 6-10 goals too over the course of a season 5
Popular Post FrankieADZ Posted 1 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 1 September 2025 if we could get James, Carranza and one other in, id be pretty pleased with the window if im honest 9
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 1 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 1 September 2025 (edited) As much as the thought is horrific, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if we don't actually bring in an attacking midfielder because we think Ayew is good enough at 10. JJ, Carranza and Rak-Sakyi on loans by 7pm wouldn't shock me. Option / conditional obligations on the first two, probably not with Rak-Sakyi. Edited 1 September 2025 by Finnegan 7

I'm sure we would want a 10, but financially we probably need one of Kristiansen, Faes or Winks out to give us the freedom to act.

This window feels like it was never the end game, more about righting the ship, setting the destination and seeing in the Winter /Summer where we are. 1

I mean, almost the entire squad can and should be improved. We're left with extremely few players who are genuinely excellent for a club in our position. I'm not saying Cifuentes thinks Ayew is Messi reborn. I just think he'll see him as good enough and that a striker, winger and box to box midfielder are more important. 1
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 1 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 1 September 2025 Given Ayew and Daka have played 5 games and have zero goals or assists between them, this idea should be laughed out the fcukin building. But it'll be met with applause in the board room. 10 4
TJB-fox Posted 1 September 2025 Posted 1 September 2025 Let’s not compare this lad and KDH, they’re absolutely miles apart. Probably makes you realise how good KDH is now we’re stuck in this position. 2
BKLFox Posted 1 September 2025 Posted 1 September 2025 (edited) He would be a starter in a 6/8 role with the added bonus of possible 10. He might not sound fancy but every club needs these type of players, players that do the basics really well. Yes he’s not there just yet but every player needs to grow, because he was mentioned where was KDH 5yrs ago go bigger and say where & what was Rice doing 5yrs ago when he was 21? I’m not saying he will end up like those but 5yrs ago Rice wasn’t the player he is now he just went about his business and was important to the team. For lesser big names look at James Garner, Sean Longstaff & Elliot Anderson who has just earned an England call up, none of them sound special but all do a particular job in their teams and ‘get’ the leagues they are in. He would be an excellent signing for now and future, just a shame we couldn’t pair with Hackney but would certainly take either 1 over our current crop. Edited 1 September 2025 by BKLFox 1
RobHawk Posted 1 September 2025 Posted 1 September 2025 (edited) Desperate for someone like this to come in. The gap between the attacking players and the midfield is way to big. We can bemoan the fact that daka and ayew haven't scored yet this season, but how many chances have we created for them? For me this guy is target number 1 Edited 1 September 2025 by RobHawk Autocorrect 1
kingfox Posted 1 September 2025 Posted 1 September 2025 Trying to get him in or someone of a similar profile will be just as important as Carranza. Hopefully we can pull this off, as he’d be absolutely ideal for the ‘8’ role that we’ve been crying out for all summer. 1
Barwell Fox Posted 1 September 2025 Posted 1 September 2025 Really surprised with some of the comments on here for James. I remember Brum fans talking about him a couple of years ago. Some thought he was the coming Messiah, whilst others thought he was a lazy inconsistent tvvat. Has he had a performance transplant in Rennes or what?

We need to bring in a creative mid in, so that we have another way to unlock the deep block we will see a lot of, but tbh, I think I want to see Ayew starting in that position. He's been doing a lot over the last few weeks when it comes to directing our attacks and firing the wingers and Page up. Getting that same effect on a front line without him being the focal point could be huge.

Ayew’s heatmaps look he’s a attacking right back

He slows play down constantly and, like a pound shop Grealish, thinks the best thing he can do for his team is win a set piece. When we rarely score from set pieces. I'd rather play Rudkin himself at 10. I can't wait til his contract expires. I just think Cifuentes seems to like his attitude and we might as well get used to him playing regardless. He never takes the guy off the pitch. Given that it's not the only glaring flaw in the squad, I just think we'll focus elsewhere. 1

I don't rate Ayew's ability as a player, (as with everyone else with eyes), I don't even think he comes across well in interviews, but his attitude on the pitch is pretty great, in terms of work rate and the way he interacts with the other players. It's just a matter of if it's worth having a Bard in your DnD party that contributes absolutely nothing to the team but adds a +1 to everyone else's rolls... 3
