Jordan James was among the Rennes players whose departure was being considered at the end of the transfer window, and things seem to have settled down for him. The 21-year-old Welsh midfielder is reportedly on his way to Leicester this Monday. Rennes and the Premier League club have reportedly agreed on a loan with an option to buy in excess of €5 million.

In recent weeks, the former Birmingham player (under contract in Brittany until 2028) has been in the sights of Parma (Italy), Wrexham and Ipswich, both Championship sides.

Loan with an option is perfect, good fee if he does well and only 21.

There was a jet that arrived just before the Rotterdam one, from Paris, might well have been on that if they couldn't do a flight from Rennes.

Shame he's in the Welsh squad could have been a nice 2 weeks for Marti to work with him (+ any other newbies) & be able to start with the full tactical brief v Oxford but i'm sure he'll walk in anyway.
