The club's transfer business has, indeed, been appalling on the whole for quite a few years now but, tbf, given the circumstances I don't think there's been much wrong with this window.

 

You’re right in what you’re saying - but leaving it this late knowing we need a minimum of 3 is nigh on suicide. These could all have been in the pipeline yesterday and simply today a case of formalities. The club obviously knew it was going to be loans only which surely you’d expect them to be a lot easier to sort than full transfers.

Yeah absolutely. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if one or both of Ramsey & James don't get done in time.

 

But it also wouldn't surprise me if we announce both in the next 30, 40 minutes and some of you are having meltdowns over nothing.

How do you know they weren't in the pipeline yesterday?

Isn’t this already the case? Didn’t Carranza say he was meeting with Marti the other day?

It's definitely a bit wild we've waited til deadline day to do Carranza. Surely Bilal's wage off the books isn't the only thing that stood between us being able to bring in one loan signing or not. So given the need for a striker, I do agree that one is wild.

 

But I'm guessing Ramsey was only going to be moved on if / when we got BEK wrapped up so that's why that one is so late.

 

And there's still a chance that actually JJ isn't coming at all beacuse we were only going to sign him if Soumare went to Milan which clearly isn't happening.

Carranza was at the training ground yesterday so talks must have happened last week

It does appear like we are always walking a financial tightrope. 

Dorset said we appeased PSR after Justin was sold but the late loans and lack of activity suggests a more reactive approach based on movement out today.
