Every professional squad has 3 goalkeepers. 
 

If one of the two senior goalkeepers gets a long term injury you’re one further injury/suspension away from playing the U21 goalkeeper. 
 

We had it in 2014/15 when Schmeichel got injured and Hamer had a combination of injury and poor form meaning we bought Schwarzer in.

Thank god we had our 3rd choice keeper available :D Would have been a nightmare to have use Bausor!

 

Ok - Danny Ward breaks most arguments. But you do have to cover yourself for the eventuality your first 2 keepers are injured.

Well you just need to cover for 1 injury really, cos when one is injured you tend to still have one on the bench.

But last season we had 2 injured, and had to play our 3rd choice? So you do need cover?

I know.  I'm saying you need 3 to cover for 1 injury, not 2.  Cos when one is out injured you're left with one starter and one sub.
