I think this game will be the first real benchmark of where we are at. No one can say they don’t know what Marti is all about any more and none or our regulars can claim they don’t know how he wants them to play.

 

winks has to start. That’s obvious.it would give us more fluidity first half. We seem a bit too rigid without him.

 

the big conundrum for me is Riccy or Hamza. Marti seems to  like to keep it tight in the first half, read the game and then  make some decent subs. I’d like Riccy to start but Coventry are a good team and I’m inclined to think Marti will stick with Hamza and then bring Riccy on. If there’s one thing about Hamza, he’s a more physical player and gets some strong tackles in so we might need that in the first half..

I just hope Marti doesn’t go with Skipp and Soumare again, I don’t know what he sees in that pair..  they make the defenders nervous and provide nothing for the attackers

Hamza absolutely has to play. Shouldn't be an either/or with Ricky.

Give them a week and stick Winks and James next to each other in the middle. Skipp Soumare have nothing to offer in what will be a good atmosphere.

I’ve also no idea whether Carranza would be ready to start. Much as it pains me I’d have to go with Daka without better information, which means Ayew as the 10. 
 

Hopefully Carranza will prove himself capable so we don’t have to see Ayew and Daka as the no. 9 options for too long

I know that’s not Hamza’s position, but he brings energy and aggression to a side that is very low on both. He will press and chase and that might compensate for Ayew not really being able to do so.
