I remember Ben Mee had a nightmare, on loan to us, think it was vs Millwall. Conceded a penalty and they were beating him for fun, I thought “he can’t be this s**t” coming from Man City. I believe now it was a nerves thing and fair play he’s having a decent career.

 

Spider Kalak, away to West Brom then his home debut v Bolton just as bad if not worse.Mate, it’s called a ball.

 

Mark Grew vs Notts County. “Yay we’re promoted, can’t wait to see how we get on.” Then day one, “Where’s Wally ( Wallington)? In his place a new signing that no-one wanted or needed, any momentum we had from promotion fell flat that day but Wallington got back in and we stayed up, I think it was a contractual dispute?

Me at Beavers aged 5. Had two orange squashes which was apparently a huge no no, got told off by a bloke with a tunic and a pair of ugly khaki shorts and I never went back. Years later it was still talked about as a were you there moment.

For us it’s probably Ramsey that I can remember. But Woodgate for Real Madrid was worse, comical own goal before getting sent off, and was then voted the worst signing of the 21st century by Madrid fans in Marca after the game.

Not bad in the sense that he put in a poor performance, but was it Rob Ullathorne who broke his leg early in the game on his Leicester debut?

Dennis Wise, started in the 5 0 horror show against Bolton and set the path for his career at Leicester

Also Molla Wague who dislocated his shoulder on his debut in a cup game against Millwall after joining on January deadline day and never played another game that season

I just remember him arriving late for every challenge and trying to shoulder charge the player off the ball, conceding foul after foul, he was so far off the pace. I thought “You were playing for England a year ago? ……..you’re s**t”

...and then randomly popped up with the winner when we played Watford in the cup (or was it the league?) and acted like it was some massive redemption arc, was giving it the biggun like we even remembered who he was!
 

The fella did absolutely nothing in his 70 minutes in an LCFC shirt besides injure himself, only ended up playing six games for them too. What a melt. lol

Individually, yeah, Kalac is up there.

 

Gerry Taggart had a stinker of a first season, so I can't imagine his debut at Old Trafford was a happy one, especially since that's the game where we ended up throwing away a two goal lead (my mistake, he only came on in the 89th minute, bit harsh to pin that one on him)

 

Joe Mattock had such a torrid time when he broke through, it gave me a policy of easing off players for bad performances because I saw the jeering he got cause his confidence to absolutely crumble. It took the League One season to rebuild him.

My biggest memory of his time here is him grabbing the ball for every set piece at Upton Park, and doing such a shit job, he eventually started getting booed and had to give the ball to someone else.

He made his debut at Old Trafford the week before and was really good there, I recall. But you're right he struggled in some of his early games for us. A horrific defeat at Bournemouth springs to mind as a bad day for him.
