Looking at the clip, Faes committed himself to the slide a bit early.  Had the ball bounced a bit unpredictably  - a bit higher or lower, or a spin to the side - then he would have hit the oppo player rather than the ball, so it was definitely a bit risky diving in the way he did.  Having said that, it definitely ended up being a fair, legal challenge so the penalty was incorrect (as confirmed by the attacker appealing for a corner).

I reckon it'll be one where he immediately knows so throws in a couple of bonus stamps, doesn't wait for the red card and marches straight down the tunnel, no looking back.

 

Then within half hour of full time a post on social media about 'no regrets'/ 'je ne regrette rien' / contact sport / 50/50 or something like that.

I’m willing to give him a bit more time. Looks absolutely woeful so far TBH but short cameos are difficult to get a measure on someone.
