Joop to go with his WHOOP that he wears while running the club like poop.

Angus Scott Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Why do people think King is the answer to our problems. He is part of the problem since he came back here as a coach. Why is the assistant manager not in interim charge? 2

Staying up this season will be all we can expect . Then in the Summer re evaluate for the future. Whether the players would accept him is another issue. It would depend on how he's thought of in the group.

reynard Posted 25 January Posted 25 January 32 minutes ago, CarolinaFox said: Any managerial selection now needs to pragmatic. We are mid table, facing a 6-9 point deduction that could put us close to a relegation fight, we have no technical director in place. We don't need a manager leading with philosophy and explaining what they want to do with Leicester long term. We need reliability, stability and credibility. Results over style. For that reason I don't think we will go with Martin. Leadership may be out of touch with the fans, but everyone saw what happened at Rangers. The fans weren't having Martin from day one. I also don't think the club will go after a long-term vision manager. We need a low maintenance manager who can work within our constraints, work with the squad he has and maximize their output and re-establish the club's credibility. For me its Tony Mowbray. He gets the league, understand the pressure. He's a no nonsense appointment. Give him a 1-2 year contract. Let him restore order and belief, get us back to winning and then we can go after a more "appealing" aspirational hire with a long term vision once we have a technical director in place, and have sorted PSR issues. Mowbray has done little of note at this level since around 2008 except be sacked from every job after that. He did ok for a season at Sunderland but was sacked the following one, failed at Celtic, was atrocious last time at West Brom and not much better at Birmingham though he was ill then to be fair to him. He might be ok but I'm not that convinced. 2

The_77 Posted 25 January Posted 25 January (edited) Likely too soon for any of them to step in as manager but the boys from the title-winning season are very hurt about the state of the club and want to step in with real football roles, from the academy up to the first team. I have no faith in the clowns in charge reaching out to them for input but I pray they do. Edited 25 January by The_77 1

Analysethis Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Steve Gerrard until the end of the season. Hopefully he gets a similar reaction from the younger players as Lampard has got from Coventry. Bring a few loans in from Liverpool as well. 1
Gazza M Posted 25 January Posted 25 January You just know they are crossing their fingers King gets a few results and they dont need to spend much.

Terraloon Posted 25 January Posted 25 January The question that needs to be asked first is what sort of budget there will be. No I am not talking about players coming in the budget I am talking about how much is left in the pot once the compensation for yet another “ failed “ HC is funded. what’s it going to cost ? Two million plus would be my guess. Very few decent “ fire fighter” type of managers/ HC will come cheap and it’s unlikely that there will much , if anything in the kitty, for whoever to bring in more than maybe a token signing and yep that possibility of a points deduction. Of course there was a need for change but does anyone think that there is a plan in place ? I don’t !

If we have no money as been reported then it's unlikely we'll bring in an outsider short term. That leaves us with the few Experienced players we have plus King who I wouldn't trust to do a job.

He might be ok but I'm not that convinced. Every managerial appointment is a risk. We’re making one in January with no technical director, no transfer budget, low confidence, and a points deduction looming. We’re not looking for a long-term solution—we need someone who can stabilize the squad, restore belief, and steady the ship. A more visionary free-agent would cost money we don't have, and a manager without league experience feels too risky. So the club will likely target someone who is affordable, lower-risk, and has proven experience in this league. A two-year appointment at most, to get us back to stability, then reassess once we have more resources and a technical director. There aren't a ton of options out there that would fit that remit. Mowbray feels like the best fit for those criteria. Just curious, who would you go for?
