14 years ago today saw the return of the much loved Leicester manager – Nigel Pearson. One of the last of the old school, hard managers, he sorted out the mess left by Sven and built one of Leicester’s greatest sides by 2015. Just look at the change in the quality of the team from his first game in 2011 – Schmeichel, Peltier (Abe), St Ledger, Mills, Konchesky, Gallagher, King, Dyer, Wellens, Beckford (Schlupp), Nugent (Howard) to his last in 2015 – Schmeichel, Wasilewski (De Laet), Huth, Morgan, Albrighton, Cambiasso (Drinkwater), King, Schlupp, Mahrez, Ulloa, Vardy (Kramaric.) Ranieri took them to the next level, but Pearson built the majority of the team in just three and a half very canny years.

That’s not a bad championship side to corn back to! Appreciate the balance wasn’t right but the quality there is pretty darn good

Bit unfair describing him as an "old school, hard manager". He was quite forward thinking in a lot of areas.

I was meaning it as a compliment, but yes I know what you mean.

Was on holiday for that Palace game, was gutted to miss it. God I was so happy when he came back, complete travesty he went in the first place. He left us in a fantastic position, if I was sure he was still up to that I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

Bit similar to Sam Allardyce who was quite innovative at the time. Though he fully embraces that rep now.

I must have spent about the price of a season ticket going to all Svens home games before he got sacked and then that one. Then decided to get one after that game.

Back in the days when you could just walk in the ticket office and decide to buy a season ticket. Probably not that far off.

Controversial opinion but I feel like Sven didn’t do a too dissimilar job to puel. Yes we made some honking signings, but without kasper, nuge and konchesky… I think our future would have unfolded in a different way.

Behave 😂

We had some amazing performances under Sven when he first took advantage of being able to loan players on about 50k a week. It was surreal to watch after years of depression. But my word he spunked money on a level that until Pearson could have genuinely put us into administration.

Under Puel, players like Vardy and Kasper were ready to walk. But the scouting system at the time was so good that it led to our next brief spell of success.

All of this done under the King Power banner for which they get all the credit with the happy clappers of course.

Was really gutted when he left the first time and we got Sousa. Felt like coming back to reality after a great holiday. At the same time I was a bit sceptical about him being reappointed, but it turned out even better the second time...

People posting laughing emojis to this is truly embarrassing from Leicester fans. Get it that folks may prefer others but it is far from a laughable opinion especially for anyone aged between 25-45

How? We have a manager that won the Premier League and one that won the FA Cup.
