Was thinking about this walking the dog this morning.

You would have assumed that in the lead up to the game there would have been next to no proper preparation for him to play at CB, especially for nearly 80 minutes.  Furthermore, to come on after a sending off (remembering he has had this himself) and play with 10 men putting further pressure on the back line - i imagine there would have been no discussion about this.

Taking everything into consideration, he was excellent. Didnt look out of place and driving forward put some of the senior players to shame.

Have to see more of him.

Considering how poor our defenders have been this season I find it crazy he hasn’t had more appearances

He needs to replace one of the full backs going forward, I think he's a bit too slight to be a CB at this point

Thought he did well yesterday, but found it slightly strange we had a young centre back on the bench (Kevon Gray I think) yet King chose to play a young inexperienced right back there.

Bright, alert and very mobile. May stay in if Vestergaard’s not back in time for Birmingham, beyond that I’d have him as one of the full backs from now on regardless, the Southampton Cup game should be a chance for a full 90 minutes,  I’d be braver than that though and integrate him fully over those who have let us down time and time again.

His performance and Nelson getting further experience under his belt were the only glimmers of positivity from yet another s**t show yesterday.

Reminded me a bit of Maguire the way he drove out of defence with the ball, breaking lines by dribbling through them as supposed to passing through them.

Banged the drum a while ago for Bade…. He’s quality. Like I said always looked head and shoulders above everyone in the academy when he played…. HAS to play full back though.

Was concerned when he came on at CB considering Charlton were lumping the ball forward to two brutes and he's only 5'11/6'0... but he coped with it well.

Also didn't know he was as good with the ball too - drove forward with a dribble a few times, and whipped a few balls through between the lines - besides Vestergaard looks one of our better passing CBs too.

If he's equally as/more effective in the full back positions then what a versatile player we have there.

I think Aluko did a very good job stepping into centre back on Saturday.

He looked very composed on the ball & played on the front foot to try take us forward.

I felt he pressed the game well too to keep us high up the pitch in the 2nd half.
