Rate him in general, but i thought that Cleary had the beating of him.

What like it did when he went off? Thought he was taken off as he had been booked, otherwise he had a good half. Cleary was good but Aluko was doing well I thought. Coulibaly demonstrated why he's hardly played since he signed.

I thought he was superb against Cleary. The yellow card changed the game but he wrapped him up till HT.

Massively disagree, or certainly not in the same sense of last season when up against a talented winger. He was managing the game excellently after his booking and looking very confident on the ball.

 

I understand the temptation to have replaced him seeing as we'd got the advantage of the extra man but we massively lost momentum 2nd half without him. Whether that was all on Coulibaly is debatable but he was muck flaps.

The yellow card he did pick up from my view looked very unnecessary, From that point especially after the red card for Barnsley he was only gonna be one tackle away from a sending off. He got done my cleary in the first minutes then decided to face him up quickly and it was like taking candy from a baby

It did anyway. His pace and physicality might have prevented it. Clearly looks a talent in this league. I would play Aluko more regularly.

I think McFarlane might be better as a CB, too.

He seems at home in this league right now - that is to say that he is good enough. He might have a higher ceiling, he might not.

 

I didn't notice a huge difference between him and Coulibaly on Saturday.

Both him and JJ both look better than Coulibaly.

 

Aluko just need to stop the habit of picking up cheap bookings.

I've been trying not to say it out loud but I think JJ is a sicknote. He looks great but doesn't seem particularly fit or resilient.

He managed 30 league appearances for Tranmere last season, played in 23 consecutive league games.

revisionist thinking. We can embrace both. No need to throw JJ to one side because Aluko is also a good player.

I like him, his attitude spot on, hes brave with the ball and he clearly has ability. He is still a little raw, but that is due to not playing much at 1st team level and he'll improve. 

 

More than happy with him and the more he plays, the better he'll be. Maybe should have gone on loan last season like JJ.

Currently, a walking yellow card.   So wise to replace him when he's on a yellow.

JJ is a better defender,Aluko regularly gets caught on the wrong side,pulls player back gets booked.

Stangely enough all of our bookings against Barnsley were for this misdemeanour.

All 4 ( 5 if  Thomas was booked) were our academy graduates.
