I dont care if we get relegated, just want the season over so we can say bye to a bunch of shit players.

But the majority are contracted past next year, and with dwindling careers on top money there are not likely to be many takers

Sadly though, the owners, the board and the hanger's on will still be there making the same poor decisions

Absolutely not. It would be a financial disaster.

I certainly don’t think we’re getting promoted anytime soon (and until our current mess is sorted out, it’s pointless doing so) but we go down to League One and we’ll be like Bolton and Reading have been recently. Doomed for a long long time.

It doesn't have to be this way at all. It's a more than retrievable situation.

Keep the faith

Absolutely not we kidded ourselves that relegation to the championship would provide enough of a kick up the arse to drive a complete overhaul / reset and it didn’t, so there is absolutely nothing to suggest another relegation to league one would do anything except make the whole situation considerably worse.

Anyone know the quickest a club has gone from winning the top flight to third tier?

Eerily our last game will be 10 years to the day after our EPL win.

We got out of the Championship and League 1 by effectively buying our way out of trouble with smart investment from Vichai.

If we get relegated, this isn’t happening with Top at the helm.

We can’t afford to go down.

Pretty sure most of our sponsorship deals will have clauses in them so the financial implications of going down would put us in a worse situation we are already in.

Going so straight back up with this lot wouldn't be as easy as last so definitely not

Vichai wasn’t around when we were in League 1…

And he threw money at crap. The difference between him and Top was that he realised this was a mistake and brought the real brains back. I suppose that in itself is smart investment.

Absolutely agree we will fall even further with Aiyawatt though.

That's because nothing will change, our owner is still here. Whatever it takes for new ownership is the risk we need to take, otherwise at best it's more of the same and at worst it's as bad as anything we've ever experienced, if not worse.

Doh, yes, you’re right!

We definitely threw money at crap until Pearson turned up.

This comment is the reality, the perspective if you like and certainly the fear.

For me the first thing the club and indeed supporters has to do is accept the reality of circumstances. Moaning about the rules is futile if the other stakeholders won’t vote for or indeed see the need for change that’s one thing  but the fact that we now have a government regulator now in situ further stifles ambition if anyone thinks that clubs are going to be allowed or indeed able to “ take financial risks” as in the past then they are in for a rude awakening.

I wont compare how LCFc are run compared to say Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal etc  but clearly there has to be a realistic understanding that these supposed big six have huge revenues compared to Leicester and any club that tries to break into the higher echelons of football has to accept the simple fact for as long as FFP or whatever the respective domestic leagues call their version is in place challengers that emerge will be short term challengers.. in other words short term gain but undoubtedly longer pain.

The current owners got carried away and to a large degree so did the vast majority of supporters. The club now has to face up to the reality of its situation but for me the damage is so deep , so potentially damaging I am not sure a change of ownership is the answer the reality is that the ownership& the supporters have to accept that change is going to have to happen and that  mean pain .

Just finally on a change of ownership be careful what you wish for because yes change is needed but often change fails to deliver the benefits that those calling for expect.

Currently best odds 22/1 with Paddy Power to go down. £100 at those odds might soften the blow. The other way to look at it is would you pay £100 to keep us up.

Or we beat Derby and find some form because imagining the worst is never any use, in football or life, taking positives and focusing on them is always better.

Realism is also needed at times and what we can and cannot control.

Nail on the head there we can't control much really, in football or life, fans get upset because accepting that you can't control anything is unfathomable to some.

PS Podcasts are a positive, that they are actually there, despite a little negativity. Thank you.

When we were last in League One I had the first realisation at how little the club gives a toss about its fans.

As a small business owner I’d had 4 tickets in the comfy seats three rows behind and about 15 seats to the left of The Chairman, with pre-match meal in the Grand Hall (or whatever it was called - the big room that holds around 600). I’d threaten to take our best customers to a game if they didn’t give us an order!!!

On relegation they froze the ticket prices, and I renewed…. Instead of 30 - 40 tables of ten it went down to 5-6 tables of ten, they even partitioned the room off to feel less empty.

Having supported the club through that season when they could only sell 20% of those expensive tickets, the following season they took my parking space away, moved my seats to substantially worse ones, and doubled the price. Called the guy that shook our hands every week to discuss and there was nothing he could do …

So protest. Don’t attend. Booo. They don’t give a toss anyway, but you may feel better, and it will definitely be more uncomfortable for them than just accepting it like I did!
