They've always got a fine line to tread for better or worse - go in too hard and they lose their 'privileges' no doubt.

Liked the post match interview with Bobby, he thought we were 1-0 at half time

Today (on top of other weeks) is what did it for me today. Totally appreciate they have a balance to make, or guidelines to operate under, but a good broadcaster or journalist will find moments, or be able to navigate these relationships. I view it in a similar way to staff in the club, the fanbase etc. - it's easy to coast when things are going well, and by all means we should enjoy that, but when things start to impact the club we care about, anyone with an interest or passion in the club should try and dig us out the hole. Local media is a huge part of the following, like it or not. I wonder if it has a part in why some of our fanbase is so passive. That's likely unfair. I'm frustrated all round. But I stand by what I said and our local media needs to provide better representation to not only support our local lcfc community, but to compete with other outlets.

The annual "we asked for an interview with Rudkin/Whelan" etc is often touted. Is the response to that "ah well, we tried"? And if there is more to the relationship in the club, requiring certain editorial content etc, then publish that.

It's like the fan committee meetings - the fact the actual minutes etc don't get published speaks more than what the actual content could say.

I'd love for RL to actually address some of this stuff. What do they want their role here to be? Because it's beyond on the pitch performance right now.

I do like Pipes on the whole but I've stopped listening to When You're Smiling. Independent podcasts are able to be far more honest about the current situation, so I prefer them.

I listen to the podcasts more out of habit than anything. You'll rarely get anything deeper than post-match analysis. They have the same rotation of guests who all have different points of view which results in a very sanitised product.

They’ve got strict impartiality guidelines to adhere to and the football club have a history of becoming upset with media if they feel criticised. RL do a decent enough job with this in mind IMO.

Bring back the moan in

You mean the hour where 3 or 4 handpicked passive fans manage to get on air with pathetic excuses for the club?

They weren't handpicked, I got Tilley off here to ring up in 2010 to complain about "Paul Soozer" and that he "couldn't look his crying son in the eyes"

What do people expect from a BBC radio station? Your better off listening to some of our fans podcasts or YouTube channels. Pipes calls it pretty balanced but Owynn has to remain partial due to his employer.

I don't understand.  If there are rules of impartiality why are they broken by (a) reporting the concerns expressed by many fans and (b) asking questions of the club?

Invited them to the Trust End of Season Survey stuff and emailed the survey results in case there is any interview with Top upcoming. No responses.

The fact it seemingly wasn't even acknowledged is poor. But hey let's sit on a pod /radio week after week talking about why we don't have a better squad.

It's nothing to do with impartiality. Stringer and Bourne used to be totally impartial. It's all to do with access. They can't afford to upset LCFC and have their access reduced.

They banned Stringer from interviewing them when Pearson was here. Radio Leicester have even less power now. Especially with teams having their own online radio commentary. It's just not worth it for them to upset the club unnecessarily.
