scinnell Posted 17 January Posted 17 January I'd rather gamble £2million on this, over signing Lyndon Dykes on a three year contract who has a proven record to fail at this level. 4
fox_favourite Posted 17 January Posted 17 January Seems a bit of a dodgy one to me. 1 good season and that's it. Hmmmm

HankMarvin Posted 18 January Posted 18 January 3 hours ago, FrankieADZ said: its worth the gamble imo, look at Salech at Cardiff and Ivanovic at Millwall salech came from Swedish league too and Ivanovic from the Serbian league both id say have adapted well to the EFL and didnt cost the earth for me if we can get this lad in it will certainly help and cant be any worse than Ayew Ivanovic is hardly setting the world alight, same goals as Ayew. Yeah he is young but considering they are top end of the table you would expect more.

Vindaloo FOX Posted 18 January Posted 18 January (edited) Worth the gamble, think he might surprise a few on here. Edited 18 January by Vindaloo FOX
filbertway Posted 18 January Posted 18 January Well I've seen enough to be confident this doesnt look like a good idea. No doubt have the same characters going full mast over this, purely because its new blood. Then going on to slate him 3 months later
Vindaloo FOX Posted 18 January Posted 18 January them first 3 goals are great finishes, especially the second one, the way he brings in down on his chest. He kinda reminds me of a pound land Mateta. 1
Popular Post brookfox Posted 18 January Popular Post Posted 18 January He’s £2m, has some attributes we need, we’re going into next season with no first team strikers, he’s shown he can be a goal scorer (in 1 season) and is a decent age. We’re clearly walking around a car boot sale with a fiver in our pocket looking for Faberge egg. Anyone we bring in is going to have flaws, it’s how they adapt that’ll be key. 16

CloudFox Posted 18 January Posted 18 January (edited) Based on the videos and stats, he's clearly a bit of a risk...but there are attributes like his strength, pace, aerial ability that we completely lack up front. What I do genuinely like though is what looks like his "awareness" to be in the right place at the right time, as well as just capitalising on opportunities/mistakes from the opposition. How many times yesterday were you screaming at Ayew to get on the end of something, or just compete with a defender about to get to the ball first? We desperately need someone to do what he does not. JJ, BDCR and Skipp have been getting the ball into dangerous areas...but there's no-one there to snap a shot off! Maybe I'm just clinging to something giving us hope this season... Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 18 January Popular Post Posted 18 January I'm fascinated who the other two strikers we're in talks with. We need to get this signing right as yesterday was clear as day why we will do absolutely nothing without a proper striker. Bobby Reid may have appeared to be the villain at wasting glorious cut backs and crosses but what was stark to me was other very good positions we got in that Ayew was absolutely nowhere or making the wrong decisions in where to move to as the crosses came in. 15

Couldn’t agree more, I do not understand why Marti persists with selecting Ayew as a striker, so many times a player with any level of striking instinct would have got on the end of some of the decent crosses and cutbacks instead Ayew is stood scratching his ‘arris next to Nelson and Okoli

Given where we are every signing is going to be a bit of a gamble, just hope we don’t burden ourselves with ridiculous wages. At least at a couple of million and sensible wages if it doesn’t work you should be able to move them on without having to take a financial hit. 2

Both are amongst the best players in the division, if this lad is even half as good it's a major improvement on Ayew and Daka. 3
Pliskin Posted 18 January Posted 18 January From what I’ve been told he had good physicality, he is strong with good movement, those in Scandinavia believe he has what it takes to be successful at this level at least…. We will seed but I’m not convinced by him.
