No purely because I don’t want to end up hating him.

I voted yes but this is a great point.

I don't mind him staying as a caretaker but he should keep his job when we appoint a serious manager. One with Pearson-esque methods and philosophies.

Yes if it means Marti going, no if there is any else suitable who wants it.

Don’t think many would want the poison chalice

I really wouldn’t want this to tarnish his impeccable reputation and status throughout the fanbase.

It really is an impossible job and I doubt an inexperienced coach has the skill needed to deal with this car crash.

As much as Kingy might be a club legend and a great servant  he was there with Ruud and there now...not exactly making improvements  is he?

It'd be a good opportunity for someone out of work with nothing to lose.

They can use the circumstances surrounding the club as a cop out if they did fail.

only if he's in with a Mowbray or Pearson, experienced mentor with a phased transition to him being the manager. otherwise, What's he done as a coach to justify? it can't be jobs for the boys but I don't hate an up and coming coach with an experienced mentor as a long term plan

I'm repeating what I said in the Cifuentes Out thread:

Giving it to Kingy seems like a mad move to me. He may love the club, but he's still got 0 experience as a manager and unfortunately we need more than someone with an affinity for the club and not much else. I think we badly need experience right now.

People will hate me saying this, but it's not dissimilar to appointing RvN who was given the job based on reputation as  legendary player and not actual achievements as a manager. Ruud was nowhere near equipped to handle that situation last season, and neither is Kingy this season IMHO.

The club totally toxic and it shows with our last few managers things are not going to change fast. So who ever comes in are on a hiding to nothing

Been a coach for the entirety of probably the most abysmal calender year in the clubs history. I'd be more inclined to send him packing with cifuentes than put him in overall charge!

Difficult if you don't have total control. Marti is so fundamentally wrong it would take Kingy telling him some home truths which I don't think he would be able to do without falling out.

Also part of pre-season before Cifuentes came which resulted in an unfit squad

Maybe in the future but he has a long way to go

If he cares about LCFC as much as people think and hope and doesnt want to be another Top yes man then thsts what he should do

Doesn't seem like his personality to do that. Back his boss and then implement his own ideas when he's gone is the best we can hope for.

I voted yay purely on the basis that before Marti took over, Kingy had integrated the youngsters, was committed to playing them in friendlies, had them fit, and the players looked like they were ready to fight for him albeit an inference from the handful of training videos, interviews, and friendlies. I admit that it is clearly a risk, mind.

Any “interim” should be able to organize play better.  But that is just a Band-Aid.  What does Kingy bring that can force a culture change, and have a strong voice in bringing more suitable players in?

The only chance this club has, is getting someone with the reputation, stones and tenacity to hold his ground and shoot Rudkin out of that chair.  That’s not Kingy, and probably not anyone else under this regime.

Except for a certain ex-manager who is probably too ill, and has served the club too well, to deserve this godawful job.

Would be an even more ridiculous appointment than when we appointed the latest failure.  We need someone experienced to get us through to the summer.

I imagine he will be asked to take charge for a few games on an interim basis before a new manager can be sorted out. But overall I don't think he's the ideal solution for the rest of the season.

No. Too inexperienced and wouldn’t get the respect from these players. Looking at our midfield players, who could we say he might have improved any to date- maybe an improvement and a bit of consistency from Skipp? That’s it.
