Mate who’s a Saints fan is delighted we’re taking Aribo off their wages. Apparently he looked promising at first, but since then he’s put on a bit of weight and is painfully slow. Imagine him turning out to be a poor man’s Soumaré…

But he's absolutely despised by Southampton fans where he's been for the past 4 seasons. A team that has finished below us every year and has hardly had much in the way of quality compared to what we have had in that time (and most of those are crap now or left long ago). They've almost been crapper than us for most of the season yet he's barely featured. Really don't get the comparison to Lookman at all, completely different context.

And going off the reactions here, I'm probably one of the more positive people about this signing! It's fine as some depth for the short term but it's just a typically lazy signing from us and can't blame people for thinking it's a terrible signing.

The way things are panning-out for us currently, I'm expecting at least one of the following to happen within 2 or 3 matches with this signing.

Sent off.

Injury that effectively ends his season.

Gives away a penalty.

3), 1), 2) in that order. Money well spent.

All 3 in his first game would be fantastic

Getting someone who hasn’t been subjected to whatever it is that removes all LCFC players ability,  desire and fitness has to be a good thing.

New = hope. That hope may only last a couple of games, but nevertheless.

Taken from BBCs HYS:

Saints fan. Russell Martin rated him but problem is he can't turn and move the ball forward. He always tries to fumble the ball through the legs of his marker and invariably loses possession, No loss to us.

Should slot straight in......

Desperately needed a striker. Desperately needed attacking players and defenders.

Got one of the worst box to box midfielders in the league who doesn't even get in to our best 11 currently, with all the injuries.

Amazing.

Toss of a coin really; if we get Southampton Aribo we’ve lost, Rangers Aribo and we’ve won. As long as we’ve made no commitments on contracts with him I’m fine to see how he gets on.

Seriously, why do we keep taking on Southampton cast-offs? Every day brings us closer to a 9–0 bollocking.

What else do you expect at No Standards FC? If you were in a job where you had no accountability and don't answer to anyone, you'd just make as many shortcuts as possible to make it look like you're doing your job competently.

We took their head scout didn't we? Makes sense.

Sounds like big Joe will settle right in and enjoy the pastries at Seagrave.

He’s gonna love Prince of Punjab

I can’t say that I agree with this.

He was bombed out of their squad in pre-season.

Southampton fans are genuinely pissing themselves at someone taking him off their hands.

Does anyone know if Aribo is eligible to play against Southampton....rules aren't the same as the Prem so unless it was specifically put in the terms of the loan agreement he is free to play and also isn't cup tied for the weekends match either
