Wasn’t he quite a highly rated youngster back in the day? Not sure why that matters now in fairness but thought I’d ask anyway

Yeah, did really well at Rangers and alright at this level for Southampton, fell to bits at Prem level though. Not really sure why he's not slotted straight back in at this level for them this year, would probably point to a mentality issue.

Only Glover/Rudkin could sign a clone of Soumare.

Well done Gents.,

Well if they've cloned the contract then we really are in trouble. I'm trying to find the positive in that any loan fee will be minimal with Southampton paying most of his wages.

Literally unbelievable we have got this guy and yet are stuck with Ayew or Daka starting for the rest of the season, you couldn’t make it up.

Is he cup tied?

I don't think he played for them in the third round but I doubt he will play for us against them.

Season changing signing!!!

The hierarchy  have pulled this out the bag and worked wonders.

That should shit us negative Nellie's right up, I mean we always buy the best from Southampton FC...

As always I'll give him a chance before I make a judgement. Even though his CV looks hideous, some players can sometimes just click at certain clubs.

If someone’s going to click anywhere it won’t be here.

He'll slot straight in (then out as he can't play in the following two matches).

They’ll problem agree to let him play if as we suspect and they know, he’s doggo

Give the guy a chance.

If he turns out to be the new Soumare then it’ll be on Rudkin and Co.

I mean I’m not going to be watching him either way.

Let’s just be honest with ourselves and say he’s gonna be shite. I’ll be shocked if he isn’t.

Massive no for me. Given the powers that be have signed him we have no choice but hope for him to prove us wrong.

We have been down this road too often so can sense the frustration and anxiety around it being no different.

Played a grand total of 111 minutes this season over 7 games. He couldn’t  make their squad it seems for EFL ,FA cup games or even the majority of their Championship games

Of course we need to reserve judgement but this smacks of a very cheap deal.

Just because he can't make the Southampton team doesn't mean he can't be decent for us.

He’s played no.10 before hasn’t he?  It’s not his main position, obviously.

I think this might be a little bit more of an attack-minded loan than some people realize. He’s certainly not at defensive as Soumare. More JJ  plus than Soumare. Plus possibly covering 10 on  some occasions..

Sheff Utd who are lower in the table then we are, are getting Kalvin Philips, and the best we can do is Joe Aribo. Glover should follow Rudkin out the door.

Kalvin Philips is most likely costing more than we are being allowed to spend. It probably allows us wriggle room to bring in the other two. Who knows.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or trying to find the best in a player than even SOUTHAMPTON fans think is terrible. Bless you either way.

Some of this bed wetting on here has really gone over the top.

We’ve signed;

• A versatile midfielder.

• Who has a lot of experience at the level we’re at.

• Has won things.

• Is a full international.

• On a short term, relatively low cost and low risk deal no transfer fee, no long term wage commitment).

• A player, who given their contract situation, may view this opportunity as providing him a crucial shop window to securing a better deal from the summer onwards.

For our current scenario, this is a worth a punt, see what happens, deal.
