Can we now stop all the “generational talent” crap about who’s coming out of our academy, this lad has more talent than all of them and yet some still picking holes in him during the match thread.
They are on course to be decent players & have decent careers but not 1 of them is a generational talent.

TBF he is almost exactly 2 years older than Monga and 1 year older than Page

I mean I would interpret it more as generational talents (plural) in the context of Leicester City. Which could be a fair assessment. Generational in the context of wider football? No.

That is the only sensible way to interpret it, really. Promising though they may be, I doubt anyone seriously thinks that someone like Page for example is going to be among the very best players in the world.

He’ll be a top Premier League player in a couple of years.

Hopefully they let us have him for the season if we stay up but I doubt it.

Yeah exactly. But have we had a crop so promising come through together ever before? No. So by our standards, it’s a generational bunch of talent. Not that we will likely benefit too much from them.

Man City have an excellent academy that in recent years has produced many champions league quality players like Foden, Palmer, Nico o reilly.

From a leicester perspective our best talents in recent years are Barnes, Dewsbury Hall, Chilwell who are PL level but are obviously not as good as the Man City ones.

Man City having a 18 year old academy player who's better than ours shouldnt be surprising, it doesnt take away from the fact that Monga and Page, who are still only 17 and 16 are some of the best players we have produced in a long time.

I wonder how good Mukasa was when he was Monga's age.

The problem our generational players (or whatever you want to call them) is that they're coming through at a time where our first team has an absolute dearth of both talent and leaders.  There's nobody on the pitch guiding them through, setting examples and putting in performances that help the young lads develop.

Mukasa will already have had a better experience in his limited times on the bench for Man Citys senior side.

This is 100% the problem. We will never see the best of any of our current youth lads because they will either leave at the earliest opportunity or will have their development stifled in a toxic environment with no senior players to help lead or guide them. Whilst understand why some of our fans boo, as the senior players deserve all the pelters they get, it must be tough for the young lads being in that environment.

I'm not sure it has as we've scored more than enough goals to survive without a functioning striker (we've scored the 8th highest number of goals in the league and between 13 and 18 more than each of the 4 teams just above us). Our main issue has been our ridiculous defence and, arguably, the lack of a physically strong CDM to protect the back 4.

Yes because that was the plan to avoid relegation as the season started right

Wonder if people are aware what a “generational talent” means because you’re only setting them up for failure saying that

We’re talking about a Lamine Yamal

Talks some proper shite that lad

I really liked how fuming he was at the end that we missed the chances and didn’t win. Think after the game I saw on the TV him talking through how the equaliser was allowed to happen with Ricky.

Someone who has standards. Good lad.

I like his accent. Proper East Landan boy

Looks a very promising player. Shame he’s not one of ours

Let's face it he wouldn't be here long if he was our player, we would sell him to the first decent bid. It's how we roll nowadays.

Bang on. Although, the flip side is when you're doing as well as we were 3-4 years ago, they wouldn't get a chance. All this current crop really needed was a half cohesive group around them to have been able to play without fear but it's just not happened. Let's hope it's not all for nothing but this last decades hard work in our academy is at risk of being picked apart.

They stole him from West Ham, had zero to do with his development.

Do we? We haven't been proactive enough with selling if anything

Ok so we are comparing our own talents with the academy players of a club who can pick and choose the best from other academies.

Still reinforces the point that Mukasa being good does not downplay the talent of Page and Monga.

IF we was to stay up, would defo try and get this kid back on loan for another season.... Clearly talented, just needs that vital experience of playing pro football.

3 league games played 2 goals & 2 assists. Should’ve had another assist too. Bit sloppy at times which is to be expected but he looks like he could make something happen whenever he’s got the ball.

We’re so desperate to get him, James & Fatawu in the side together.

Can tell he’s been part of the Man City set up. Their youngsters nearly always look different level.
