He’s got at least another month out.

I wonder how much extra damage was done running on that hamstring after he went down the first time

I’d consider playing Skipp at left back as we now have more midfield options and left back is a real issue

Why?

He’s actually developed a little bit of form lately; no doubt helped by playing regularly in midfield.

Add to this that we don’t have another workhorse style central midfielder available in the squad (Hamza injured), why would you move him and create a weakness in a central area?

Going for a 2-0 win, maybe 3 if we're feeling spunky!

Clean sheet and a win to kick off the Rowett era!

I am looking forward to how he sets us up and the players he picks. But A clean sheet that guarantees at least a point would be good for starters, and a late smash and grab away win would be perfect!

Happy with a draw. 1-1.

Stoke are on a poor run, but are only 5pts adrift of the play-offs.

5 points adrift of the playoffs is the statement of the season, it seems every team is only.... A couple of wins and it will apply to us. (not really I know)

I'd love it of we beat them... 1-0.

Memories of the Garry Parker volley in the 2nd leg of the play offs when we beat Stoke then Palace in the final under O'Neill...

And memories of the not very happy Stoke fans running across the pitch to get at us!

I fear we’re at the “must win” stage.

My guess is that we go a lot more direct, it won’t be pretty but will be better.

The result will be down to fine margins, close either way imo.

A few mates who are Stoke fans have told me that we are nailed on to win this as they are really struggling. Loads of injuries meaning they've got a kid playing in goal who is League Two level, they haven't got a striker who can score goals and their midfield has been decimated.  Plus there are rumblings of problems between staff on the coaching team and bad morale in general.

3-2 Stoke win then (we're 2-0 up at half time)

Is Ayew injured? Not sure I saw him in training  video from couple days ago. Hopefully not playing.

Wait. Hold up. He TRAINS?

Don’t have to be long ball though, get it to the wingers quicker so they are one v one, get it into the 10 quickly if can break the line between their midfield and defence, so he can be facing the goal. The amount of times we got Mahrez 1 v 1 the year we won the league was huge.

Fatawu go 1 v 1 with his full back first half against Southampton and scored a good goal.

get stoke running towards their own goal early doors, get Daka pressing them and don’t allow them to sit and watch us with the ball infront of them going along the back four.

all simple things I’m hopeful that rowett will implement.

My biggest concern about Rowett from a tactical / personnel point of view is he seems historically to favour experience in his signings. This makes me think he's going to piss our most winnable game of the next month on Jordan Ayew.

You could see already in training that he was encouraging to only play out if we can and openly pushing for balls into the channels.

We'll need at least 3 goals to get anything with our defence, I don't know if I'm looking forward to this game so much as I'm intrigued by it.

Tonight's result will be huge.
