Not sure what's wrong with me. I previously hated the thought of RM being our manager, but I think given the sh*te appointments over the past 2 years the board have weirdly got me thinking it wouldn't be the worst appointment in the world.

Totally get the sideways and backwards concerns, but at least he has a style of football/philosophy unlike all of the useless managers we've had since Enzo left. He does know how to coach a team even if he's a stubborn idealistic tw*t, so I'd have him over Gerrard, Rooney, etc. any day of the week. Will also do my head in listening to his BR inspired soundbites.

It's not an endorsement, but we could do a lot worse in my opinion especially with dumb and dumber making the decision.

Glad I’m not the only one - can’t say I love it either but I certainly don’t hate it over some of the crazy names I’m hearing - let’s face it it’s going to take a miracle to sort us out - at least got a promotion on his cv - could argue all day it’s the most important appointment ever in our history or that it doesn’t matter whilst the owners etc are still crap - just make a bloody decision then back the bloke so this doesn’t become my 3rd most hated season ever watching football after the last 2 years

Russell Martin will not be supported by the fans. It's a joke appointment and he was an appalling record.

Cant possibly be as bad as the last 4 choices by law of averages or maybe he could - who knows

Russell Martin the Temu Marti cifuentes

I mean I don’t rate Martin but I’d say Cifuentes is the shitter one. Probably if we appointed Martin last year we wouldn’t have been relegated like we were under that useless clown who has never won anything in his time in football.

I imagine it will be. The bloke is a stubborn idiot. There is absolutely no chance I could support him and id be giving him abuse from the first pre season friendly.

Darren Ferguson has never been a candidate.

Do we have any idea for definite who has and hasn't been a candidate? Im not targeting this at you, but people are getting very upset on here around a lot of  information that has no credible links.

100%. He inherited a difficult situation, but even accounting for that, he was shite. If anything we were better under Marti

And that in a nutshell shows how bad Rowett was, Marti showed him up .

Well, not really. But Alan Nixon does occasionally get stories right and was probably told by somebody that we’re in for Martin. It doesn’t mean it’s true but I doubt he just made it up.

The Darren Ferguson story was invented by a betting-affiliated website in an attempt to drive traffic to the ‘next Leicester manager’ market. There was never anything whatsoever in it.

100 pages! What odds would we have got for it still running in June, when this thread started in April? Probably a little better than Evens which RM is now!

It dm who we appoint some fans will like and some will dislike it’s how it is!

RM will be a good fit for the club if he’s given the right players.

Wherever he goes he’s going to get stick because of the rangers period. He clearly needs a rebuild himself and we need one anorl!

There will Be other names that pop in the next few weeks and no doubt.

It could well be Andy King, given his calm and influential presence around the club.

Thought that after the statement he made. But only if big nige is in as his advisor or senior assistant.

He does also waffle a lot of shit, so it’s hard to tell what’s made up

Mate it obviously won’t be King will it

Seriously, why not?

He knows the level (albeit not as a manager), the club and its ongoing challenges and a need for stability.

It'd be a great opportunity for him.
