Next season realistically we'll be viewed as a promotion contender in the championship IF we get promoted (big if) and we probably offer bigger wages than most Championship teams, so it's whether you can play to a few of these managers egos to think that we're their quickest way back to the Premier League over teams like Stoke or Portsmouth etc.

That is some blue sky thinking.

Listen to his podcast with Lineker and you'll realise he's actually not that bad.

He's a fraud. Some may appreciate his patter for sure. Much like Sven in that regard

We currently "offer bigger wages" because our players are locked into long unaffordable contracts! Our club has no structural advantages over many other Championship teams to suggest this will be the case moving forward.

I think our turnover is likely to be higher overall as even last season we had the 2nd biggest average attendance in the Championship, also with our recent success we do have pretty big social followings. We probably get an average attendance this year a lot larger than a lot of Championship clubs, and even some of the tin pot Premier League clubs.  Unfortunately the club isn't very good at  using either of these advantages,

I've lost interest in the club overall but my take here is that if Martin was going to come, he'd be here by now.

No reason for them to drag this out unless there's either been a disagreement or we're still genuinely pleading with him to come.

King for pre season looking more and more likely.

A few thoughts on this...

- "Tinpot" PL clubs often in wealthy areas, commanding higher ticket prices. Wonder how this impacts gate receipts

- The location of said clubs is often a draw to players, whereas Leicester... (Look how we had to overpay to attract players to the club in our PL spell)

- Gate receipts no longer quite as important (or differentiating) in the TV era

- I wonder how resilient our attendances will be over time. "Reversion to mean" is on my mind here

- What evidence is there that we have monitised our social media follows?

- Historically we've been a yo-yo club, right? I don't see how anything has changed in a positive direction from a structural perspective, and maybe our competitors have made greater strides in this regard

- I see Seagrave as an unnecessary millstone

If his contract doesn't start until July 1st there's no reason for them to announce it when they've got so many birthdays, special days and milking our tenuous links to the World Cup to fit in before then

Did we though? I think it was more to do with the big deserved increases we gave to the PL winning team that then set the standard for everyone else afterwards.

We never do anything quickly..............other than the demise from where we were 10 years ago.

The walking football and passing around the back until we concede is the football equivalent of every area of the club.  Fail, repeat, reward.

I'm not being funny here.

I watched Rangers go from gazza in the 90s totally dominating the league to the club going bust and being kicked into the Scottish 3rd division in 2012.

We have had several absolutely shit managers in the last 15 years and won next to **** all.

But I'm telling you right now - Soy Hodgson is by far the most incompetent manager you can appoint. His football and crackpot “philosophy” will have you hiding behind the sofa watching most games.

He is a total clown.

The Rangers hated him with a passion I have never seen before. It was so toxic under him he's a psychopath and could be a relative of Peter Sutcliffe

I joined this forum specifically to warn you lot!

I appreciate this, but unfortunately, we know, this fan base is not ok with this, we just aren’t as good at being toxic as you. 🤣

Did the last royal death mean Top was unavailable for a while or am I misremembering?

I mean this is not really true is it, the last 3-4 years the inexperienced Steven Schumacher, Kieran McKenna, Chris Davies, Brian Barry-Murphy and Michael Skubala have all got automatic promotion.

No, you make a valid point here.  But on the same token having a been there, done it manager wouldn't really hurt ( and technically not wrong)
