Leicester City's new manager will have £10m to spend in League One and are already making plans to reinforce the squad.

According to Alan Nixon on Patreon, the Foxes have made it clear that there is a budget ready for quick deals as they look to bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Quick deals aka continue the scattergun approach that has fcuked us

Is amortisation an issue in League 1 given the different rules? I know a loss is a loss, but not sure of the impact.

Ah maybe not. In fact getting wages off the book is beneficial but the whole loss on PSR has been part of the issue. Either way, it should be easier generally to shift the likes of Vestergaard.

Probably. The more generous way to look at it would be that there could be genuine targets who we might have missed out on having to wait but we can make them happen. Feel like you are right though!

Not a chance we have that much to spend.

No journo knows at the start of May how much a club has to spend, let alone a Cash-strapped side that has just got relegated.

Tom Iorpenda would be a solid signing

He'd be a squad player and if he's any good Hudds will want to keep him or make some money.  Good age though.

I dont understand how we can be talking about any kind of budget. How about some transparency from the club on what the finances are and what the plans are to remedy the situation over the next 5 years.

Much easier for the fans to accept moves if we understand the reasons for them.

Having any money to spend seems quite fanciful considering the massive loss it appears were about to make this coming year.

Early noises make it sound like theor head is still in the sand nobody wants to acknowledge the seriousness of our situation.

While I’m sure every fan wants more Comms from the club to inspire us, they can’t share information that gives other clubs an advantage when negotiating transfers with us, both out going or incoming

I really like the look of him, only year left on contract as well, might not be as much to buy as you’d think!

The one position we definitely don’t need anyone is RB. Joseph has had a good loan in League 2 and Aluko has shown some promise. Both can do a job on the other side too.

Both will make excellent understudies to Hamza.

Players signed on >= 3 year deals the prior to relegation don’t count towards the SCMP rules and neither do U21s.

Our actual cash flow will be a problem but I didn’t realise how light touch the regs are.

The sales and even a tiny bit of owner funding should put enough cash in to cover the costs for a season.

We have about 15 (including some returning loanees) senior players as of July. Even if Choudhury, Vestergaard, Reid and Thomas stay our wage bill should surely be on stable footing? Provided we don’t go daft (…) on wages offered to new recruits the big cost basis.

I guess the killer and what we don’t know exactly is what transfer instalments we still owe and any loan repayments.

It would be so Leicester to talk about spending money on new players when offloading the dross currently on the clubs' books in order to lower the stupendously excessive wage bill is probably the main priority.

£10m 🤣 I don’t believe that for a second. More like 10p

This will be the number they tell managers they interview.

Then the bombshell of 'outgoing before incomings' will hit home.

Maybe £10m is enough to sound credible and they think enticing enough to attract someone.

But surely all revenue for selling will just go to plugging holes? Though it would be very this board to gamble.

Apparently we’ve already started negotiations with 8 new players. Hoping to get one over the line before the window closes on 31st Aug.

Only 7 match day subs in league one

Smaller squads, still loads of games

Having seen the days of 2 subs (number 12 and 14) that seems like no hardship. Someone who watched in the 70s would be screaming there were 0 subs once.
