What is your problem, mate?

Who’s side are you on with your argument?

You don’t get a prize for being statistically correct. Yeh, 52 points would have THEORETICALLY kept us up but even that is a meaningless argument considering the space time continuum. How do you know the other teams wouldn’t have been spurred on by the amount of points they needed to get?

Surely you can’t be suggesting that the situation as it actually happened didn’t affect how different teams played. For example, Blackburn were on the beach today and so were we. The point people keep making is that if this was a crunch game there’s ample evidence we would have lost, see Portsmouth or several home games.

I’m not here to defend PSR, but the last thing this club needs is the narrative that we didn’t deserve to be relegated.

Theoretically

I don't have any problem, mate. The only FACT that we have is the 52 points and a better goal diff than Blackburn would've been enough. Everything else is just opinion and speculation but I agree they most likely would've bottled it if something was riding on todays result. The 6 point deduction was also most likely to have skewed the run-in. The players deserve their reduced salary and the criticism. I only have sympathy for the fans and those that will lose their jobs because of these spineless, lazy players and the dereliction of duty by the board.

Threw away so many points in the last 8 games. Won 6 of the 8 on xG. The draws against Watford, Sheff Wed, Preston and Hull were particularly frustrating. In all of those games we were comfortably the better team but couldn't get over the line.

That's on Rudkin watching Vardy age and leave, and arogantly thinking Daka and Ayew were good enough, despite implementing a system that didn't play to either of their strengths.

First humongous error was not signing a striker

I think first and foremost any decent manager would not have relegated this team. A striker would have been good, but that was not the issue.

We signed a manager who failed at QPR! And then Rowett! Enough said.

Thought Aluko looked really good. Let’s hope he stays. He’s definitely ready for League One.

Page & Monga showed flashes. I wouldn’t be too disappointed if Monga left for big money. Page, however, we must keep, at least for a couple of seasons.
Silko offered more (in a more open game, against tiring players) than either Monga or the execrable Mavididi.

Souttar, if we can keep him, is a potential captain.

Yeah, all true.

But also true that without the deduction we wouldn't have been relegated.

Some people seem to think that pointing this out is saying we were brilliant and wuz robbed. It really isn't. It's saying that we were woefully bad but would still have stayed up with six more pointa.

I get the maths ..... however after the points were deducted we were not in the bottom 3 ... so please explain what in your opinion happened from that point until now .... because for me it's that period of the season that got us relegated and not the points deduction... the club and the team have no fight or guts for a fight ... its results that put us down

Does anyone believe that had the Blackburn game been a pressure game that LC would have won ?

Playing a game when effectively there is absolutely nothing on it isn’t any sort of indicator at all.

Without  the 6 point deduction going into yesterdays game would have been a must win from a LC perspective and a must not loose from a Blackburns.

We have absolutely no idea how more motivated either team  would have been nor come to that how more focused WBA would have been.

People need to look at what really happened here and not would have happened if ……

My lad asked to go yesterday. Took him along and at the end hung about for him to get a fee signatures. The amount of grown adults milling about by the bus ahead of kids for signatures was quite sad really.

Based on what I have watched if the Blackburn game was a decider and we only needed a point to survive... I very much doubt we would have been motivated enough to get it ... the team as a whole don't have what is required in them ... and there are nil points for ifs and buts ... neither team would have been slightly interested in a result when their fate has already been decided

One grown adult doing this would be one too many. It's fine for kids - kids are supposed to idolise players, even if they're a bit crap really. Adults really shouldn't.

Lots of them stood with full books with bits they want signing, presumably to then sell on.

Even weirder; why would anyone buy something with this lots signature on it?!

We had more than enough winnable games to get another 6-9 points to keep us well away from being relegated after we got the deduction. Glad the season is over nit not holding out much hope for next season being any better

Anyone arguing about the points deduction is missing the... point...

We should not have been in a situation where a 6 point deduction relegates us from the Championship.

It is chronic mismangement.

You are so right .... people are hiding behind the points deduction and trying to use it as justification for our relegation... anyone should realise the clubs problems are far deeper than a points deduction.... we are in league 1 because  some of those who run the club and make important decisions are well out of their depth

Maybe :dunno:

Remember Everton's reaction to their points deduction? God help the Premier League had that relegated them. Small club mentality? I would argue the opposite and point at the celebrated Leicester self-deprecation. It's part of our DNA.

No we're playing on the "don't want too many Leicester City's" quote and the small club upsetting the Super League 6 when the reality is if we don't break Vichai's model of success, there's no way of punishing us legally.

Everton are just being Everton in the same way they still whine as if "Feed The SCousers" has actually offended them and they aren't the kids in the playground that run off and say "Miss Miss he's just tripped me up". Everton ARE a big club and just like us they messed up their figures.
