The club have a major problem though. The fans hate him, and vocally said so. We never wanted him, and said so. He was heckled off the pitch (loved him having to walk past the away end, no hiding).

Even if he gets a winning run together, which he won’t, the next bad result will be met with the same.

It will never be good. He will never have his fist pump moment.

I don’t see how the club can live with that.

I can see two million a year reasons he wont care through

Even taking out the rubbish on the pitch, the relationship is so fractured already to the point of I think no return.

He just can't be enjoying this. Rangers got to a point I actually borderline felt sorry for the bloke. This is the next thing up for him and it's not quite as vociferous but it's equally miserable.

Martin should never have come to Leicester. There was a very small window for this to work and I think it's already blown beyond any repair. He's already biting back at the criticism he's getting, which is just encouraging our fans to pile on even more.

If there were any brains at the club, all parties would shake hands tomorrow.

But there aren't, so expect this miserable relationship to only worsen over the coming weeks and months.

Its like having a sick dog and refusing to put it down even through its suffering

He needs to be removed for his own good

Rangers fans were more vociferous which is no surprise but they did at least act in October and get their season back on track. November is pretty much best case scenario for us here. As feared post Oxford he's done 'just' enough.

Even if things carry on in the unimpressive way that they are then no way will he be gone anytime before Christmas now in my reckoning!

That’s why you don’t base your opinion on one result.

Martin isn’t criticised because he didn’t win a game, he’s criticised because his footballing philosophy is provably bad.

Too many people on here are willing to base their feelings on the last match. The result was irrelevant today, Martin should not be in this job.

Martins football philosophy is perfectly exampled by our goal how many passes did we make on the lead up to the goal. The philosophy don’t work when the opposition park the bus and counter

I didn’t want him, but was prepared to give him time.

I also don’t think our squad is anywhere near as good as people on here think.

But if you don’t win that game, then it’s unlikely you’re winning more than you don’t this season, so you aren’t getting promoted. The risk/reward ratio is just ridiculously skewed against you.

It needs a complete rethink already, but then we probably all knew that in the summer and it didn’t really happen. Just just a rethink of someone going back to fexking basics would be a start.

We really do have a special breed of vloggers, fan groups and podcasts. (BSLB and Pubcast aside)

To be fair there is no way that Foxtrot Oscar Podcast would ever think this shit is acceptable

I'm absolutely apoplectic about the shite going on currently

Imagine Martin doing a fist pump in front of our way support. He be booed, chanted at and i reckon a few willy pullers signs as well for good measure. Never going to wwin over the fans who could see all this coming. But top and rudkin finally got man. Pair of twats.

He's already pulling results out when you would think he's close to the chop. But every one of them without fail is a false down. Every one of them. If they had anything about them whatsoever they would realise how stupid this is.

But the likelihood of that is miniscule. After all they went for this appointment, with totally predictable results in the first place.

I really do think both parties of the club and the fans have an us vs them mentality. I'd imagine they knew this would annoy our fans after the songs about him a year ago. I really could imagine that they have an attitude that "we tried your way, now you'll follow ours" after last year ended up how it did.

That ground should have protests outside of it every single game without fail until they're gone. Make their exit from here hell. They hate us.

After the Rangers catastrophe, if I were in his shoes, I’d have taken a job abroad, it’s about the only option where he might have salvaged his reputation.

I think he’s done as a manager in this country, I doubt many Norwich fans would even take him as manager.

We’ve had some shit periods in my lifetime, 05-08 especially, but when it comes to managerial appointments, I think the appointment of Russell Martin is the dumbest I’ve seen.

To suffer back-to-back relegations, then to appoint the one manager that would make things toxic even more, it’s like the final nail in the coffin for a idiotic incompetent ownership.

The thing is, I really question whether any manager actually turns us around. There’s a weird losing mentality that the club seems to have and it just always feels like we will throw something away… yet we have no ability to come back when things go against us.

It genuinely is a culture thing rather than just football. Stockport the other day are a club with a good culture and you could see that as soon as it looked over for them, they just rolled up their sleeves and believed it could be turned around. Yes they didn’t get the result but everyone in the stadium felt it was possible.  We don’t have that belief system, we literally have the opposite where no matter the situation, it always feels like we are one mistake away from a catastrophic fall.

It’s a really tough thing to turn around… but there’s no way we can get promoted unless we fix it. Things go against you in football and you need to be able to mentally handle that. Why are we so fragile? This isn’t simply a Martin problem and tbh I don’t actually put today on him. We had enough to beat them, we created enough to beat them and for me, it all comes back to mentality.

I can’t be the only one, that when that red card happened just sat there wondering when it was going to all go wrong for us

If the club has a "losing mentality" I'd suggest not appointing a man who has won 4 league games in 28 months.

I don't doubt 'culture' is a real thing in football but at the same time appoint a decent manager and give them a decent squad for that level and hey presto you're near the top of the league.

It’s a problem of their own making. Yet again.

They were acutely aware of how unwanted he was by the fans. By all accounts they didn’t appoint him the first time around because of the reaction of the supporters.

They knew it would be gamble and he’d have a tiny window to win people over before he was turned on.

And they followed through on their weird ****ing obsession.

As a support we’re going to have a very cathartic “we told you so” moment very soon.

To counter that I would just say look at the goals we are conceding.  Look how wide open we are.  That is a tactical choice and it is a Martin problem.

It has crossed my mind whether this might have been a Rudkin masterstroke to appoint the biggest joke in football as manager and instantly the heat is redirected towards him rather than Rudkin.
