You can guarantee they are absolutely going to drag this out, and even if they did sack him they wouldn't go for a proper well thought out replacement either - it will either be Hourihane (who by all accounts played pretty similar football at Barnsley) or some other shite appointment

I presume he means 3 touches from keeper to back of the net.

 

Anyway it’s weird that Top or whoever is obsessed with possession football. If a team ever needed a philosophy for success surely we should’ve progressed with counter attacking football after winning the league, sought the best managers that fit that model as opposed to possession. 
At least under Rodgers it was possession with intent.

I can’t comment on the statistics but purely from a fan point of view and what entertains me I have absolutely no interest in watching us play this way. 
 

McCarthy passing to Thomas or whatever CB that has two men already on them basically two metres from our own goal.

More than enough to be at the top.  What’s frustrating though is the team are happy to follow his shit football to the letter,

maybe even more so than he expects and play the lazy cowards pass, even when the quick and clean option is in front of them. 

The quick back to front attacking football produced some decent chances, even Faes was making some good passes to Alves in space. When they slowed the attacks down and over play, you can feel nothing is coming from it.
 

I like Aluko and this isn’t digging him, at the end of the first half he took 10 touches and slowed it down while bringing the ball across the middle, then passed to Alves when it was too late.  He had the space to pass first time but this seems to be the tactics. 

 

The second half showed how thick and cowardly they can be, on top of the shocking subs, stinking it out is default. 
 

It will never be Martins faults as I’m assuming in his mind it’s perfectly executed, it’s everyone else who is at fault.

Yeah that still has nothing to do with the argument he makes all the time, literally no ones arguing Martins style of play isn't shit and teams doing it without the personel to do so is crap

I don't think their would be a single club in this division that wouldn't swap their players for ours.  It's so frustrating that we have the tools to do the job but we are being hindered by our own set up.

 

I think it was @BigGibbo said it best in another thread - we are gifting the opposition chances that they aren't good enough to create by themselves
