Yesterday's game was glorious.

Sky turned up absolutely begging for a Liverpool win. They can give it a rest with all this "the whole country wanted Liverpool to win".

All Man City have done is spend more than the rest of the country so Roy Keane and Gary Neville can chuck their medals in the sea too.

It's not all they've done though is it.

Sham contracts, secret funding, boosting themselves off the books, filed inaccurate accounts... the list goes on. All backed by a state.

I couldn't care less who won yesterday but they are a disgrace and done worse than just spent more than the rest of the country. Of course Alex Ferguson was spending loads (look at how much Veron and Ferdinand cost in the early 00's) but at least he sort of earned that right.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be punished.

It's just the "holier than thou" attitude from Sky Sports attitude doesn't really wash.

Why do you think Man United has a right to outspend everyone else?

Oh yeah that I understand. Not that I pay for Sky, I listen on BBC 5 Live, I find it ironic Sky pushing that view all week considering they started this whole mess with money.

I don't think Man Utd had a right to outspend every other club, but Ferguson took over Man Utd when they were in the relegation zone and eventually won titles, so for me he somewhat earned the right to spend. Not that I agree with how much they were spending in the end because all we want is a fairer competition where everybody is on the same sort of page, but with how some clubs are bigger than others that clearly would not work. On the other hand, I've always said that's why I admire Wenger so much as he turned Arsenal into Champions without spending as much as what Ferguson was spending.

Something needs to happen though as money in the game is ridiculous.

Dunno if yesterday could have gone any better, a real victory for the plucky underdog who have upset the establishment

There does seem to be sympathy for Man City from certain fans of clubs who are not part of the established elite. They are certainly less bothered by what Man City have been found guilty of anyway. I think these people see Man City as an average football club that won the lottery and have lived everyone else's dream at the expense of the established elite. Man City fans over the age of 25/26 know what it's like to be a fan of a normal football club, and I think some people can somewhat identify with it, even when it's a club that are effectively owned by a state with a poor humans right record and who have themselves completely distorted the competition over the past 15 years. I'm not saying it's right but I do think it's interesting.

There will be a pantomime feel going forward but I doubt Ipswich, Fulham, Brentford fans will be overly bothered about creating a tough atmosphere. Fans are usually far more focused on their own team.

Amusing today, after hearing the frenzied build-up, to see journalists now claiming it means nothing and games should be suspended because the result didn't go their way.

I've got to be honest, Man City do deserve the book thrown at them and they should absolutely not get away with this.

But I can't not find that funny yesterday. All the smarmy Liverpool and United journos absolutely love each other and each others clubs. Rivalry my arse. I don't think I could ever side with the Red Cartel.

Turkey teeth Cooper sitting in the studio saying I do wonder why I’m sitting here instead of managing

Think it’s his second appearance already this season! Mental.

Shit with us and then disastrous at Brondby.

Entitlement personified from British managers.

Coventry will go and get a result no doubt and then you have to hear how we were wrong to sack Cooper. Another night of joy. Couldn't pay me to watch tonight.

He was undoubtedly better than RvN, Cifuentes, Rowett and now Martin. However, he still played his part in our downfall. He left is lumbered with Jordan Ayew, Oliver Skipp and Bob the throb. He certainly shouldn't be let off the hook.

Yes. He was a poor manager, out of his depth and with woeful recruitment ideas. Somehow that puts him as our 2nd best manager in 5 years
