If Sheff Wed were rumoured to be after him I think we’d all be saying that’s a sensible League 1 signing, scored goals at the level and at an age where he still should have the hunger and energy to kick on. 

 

I can see him playing as one off the narrow forwards in the 4-3-3 for Russ Martin, 

Hopefully a sign of things to come but I won’t hold my breath given recent windows/years!

Depending on his wages, 2 years seems a very sensible deal. If true he’s signed it’s a good first signing for me

Seems similar to Andy King. Great goal scoring in the lower leagues but not quite premier league quality. Not disrespecting Andy King who is a true club legend.

One of those players that it's hard to see how you build a team around but he does seem to be dangerous in the right set up.

 

He's neither a centre forward, winger or midfielder. Suppose he'd be classed as a 2nd striker.

If this goes through, hope it's one that opens the floodgates for half decent signings. 

CBA to see any of those from last year in a Leicester shirt again. I'll lose the will to live if I see Vestegaard and Hamza trotting out first game of the season.

Useful signing in league one. On a free for 2 years is sensible. 

 

He also had multiple 40ish game seasons in a row, so not an injury prone player.

 

Dont think we can grumble too much about it, on to the next one.

We’ll have to pay a premium on his wages to get him to sign for two years (and we’ll probably be paying 10k/week s/o fee over two years) 

id be asking for three at 29 y o

I can't see Bobby Reid staying if we get Chaplin. Chaplin on 2 years on a modest wage is very good business.

Either the right winger or an attacking mid who mainly operates on the right half of the pitch

 

Chaplin at attacking mid covering the right with Page advancing from centre mid to occupy the left side?

If Bobby Reid stays, then I really don’t understand why we’d sign Chaplin.

 

If Reid goes, then it will make more sense.

 

Looking at a number of their stats from last season, there’s so many similarities.
