It might be a case of fitting some of them in and I wonder if aspects like someone’s ability to retain the ball and possession might play a part in how much they play as well. Ideally, Bobby would go, but having him in and around the first 11 would probably be more realistic than him sitting in the reserves running down his contract. I’m quite relaxed about our financial flexibility tbf, as you see with many League 1 clubs, I think we can build a pretty decent squad by relying heavily on frees and loans, there’s plenty of possibilities out there, especially when it comes to defenders and midfielders. In an ideal world, I hope Bristol City take BDCR back , think it would be an ideal move for him, but if not and with the usual case of having at least two players in every position, it’s going to be interesting to see how Martin views Alves and BDCR. If he views them both as wingers… RW - BDCR, Silko LW - Mavididi/New Signing, Alves I’d be pretty concerned if they end up being our RW options. 33 minutes ago, Ric Flair said: Wasn't it mentioned we are in for Charlie Webster? I think we both mentioned him as a possible signing Ric, but haven’t seen him actually linked to us as of yet. He’d be a natural Jordan James replacement imo, and probably competition for Louis Page.

Martin has historically not really used/signed wingers. Rangers it looked like they had decided to but he lasted 2 months 😂

At Southampton though, you did see more natural wingers utilised on the left, a mixture of Edozie, Fraser and Sulemana. I still have a feeling that if Mavididi leaves, he’ll get replaced with Emilio Lawrence from Man City. 1

scinnell Posted 28 June Posted 28 June I'd be all over this. Need the right experienced players, mixed with the younger players. 1
Stavros81 Posted 28 June Posted 28 June Hard to believe he’s still only 29. You’d think a Championship club would come in for him

Ian Nacho Posted 28 June Posted 28 June The only thing I don't like about this is despite him going down a division, he'll no doubt be getting a significant pay rise.
Lionator Posted 29 June Posted 29 June Would imagine he’d be made club captain unless Souttar stays 1 1
CrazyKopCorner Posted 29 June Posted 29 June Good signing by the looks of it. Not sure why he’d want to come here?

Think there was a link somewhere to Webster. I have been well impressed with him the 4 or 5 times I saw him in the flesh. 1
