Interesting that louis page just said on the instagram a few mins ago that he wants to be a main player this year, yes please .

Give him the 8 shirt and make him a key player when Winks ***** off.

Page is perhaps too optimistic about being a key player this season considering the club went to every lengths to not have to play him last season.

Mukasa, Aribo, Ramsey, James all brought in to play his position last season. I fear it will be the same case this season where we bring in 2-3 new midfielders.

We’d have still gone down but I hated that he was pushed out for Aribo & Mukasa who admittedly started brightly but went downhill quickly

If Page and Braybrooke click and come of age this season and love russell martin ball then next season in the championship (assuming promotion) we got some serious talent on our hands. Just another slightly more experienced player around them and cm is sorted.

Winks was the one who really got in his way which is shocking.

Can someone who actually knows, tell me if Page is a 10 or an 8 ?

Thanks in advance

He's a central midfielder. Has played deeper/more defensive, as a conventional midfielder, and further forward

The clips of training so far show just how much work there is to be done in this window presuming that the players that aren't there now (Faes, Vestegaard, Okoli ect) are out the door already or been told to stay away to protect the culture (Winks still there though ).

I'm as big an advocate of the academy as anyone but these are just kids, most of which haven't played even at L1 level or in some cases any first team football at all. Expecting all of the likes of Aluko, JJ, Page, Gray, Cartwright, Braybrooke, Evans, Alves etc to get a lot of minutes is unrealistic imo unless we're ok with not getting promoted this season which seems absolutely unthinkable.

It's (again) the most important window in the club's recent history and there's just absolutely zero evidence that they'll get it right.

I think he's an 8. Saw him in a Skechers shop, and he was surrounded by boxes of size 8 shoes. Hope that helps.

Has Monga been about in any preseason vids/sessions?

was away with England Under 18s ( think it was them anyway!) so doubt he will be back yet

Page played quite a few games in the Championship, so it is reasonable to expect more minutes in League One. Aluko should have played more and could suit Martin’s inverted full back role. Evans scored goals in League One during a short loan, Braybrooke and JK did well in League Two, Alves seems to have been liked by Huddersfield fans and Cartwright played in 34 games in the Scottish Premiership. I think it’s reasonable to expect all of them to play some part in the coming season.

I do agree that we need players to come in with the right experience or potential, but more importantly with the right attitude. So far the rumours seem quite encouraging.

I think all those should be really pushing for at least 20 starts each at this level, possibly more for Aluko and Braybrooke.

And Alves, Braybrook and Alves are both 21 and 22 years old now - no longer kids and should be pushing to start more than 50% of the games this season.
