Bit unfair on Otchere and Hutchinson who both impressed.

Would like to see Hutchinson be given a chance down the middle next game, looks like an absolute unit.

im basing my thoughts on what's more likely to happen, you'll see in this thread I was impressed with both Otchere and Hutchinson, but I don't see either starting at striker on our first game!

I like this but think Page/Braybrooke/Alves are competing for two spots unless Alves moves out wide. Think it’ll be Choudhury or a new signing as an out and out defensive mid

yep don't disagree, after second thoughts think Choudhury will start unless sold

Page played deeper as an 8 and was really effective at moving the ball quickly up the pitch albeit he did lose the ball in dangerous areas a couple of times.

Always worked hard to make up for it when he did lose it though.

Personally I would be happy to see Page and Braybrooke as the 2 midfielders. Better than Skipp being in there as he slows it down too much. Choudhury was good as well to his credit.

not a chance that happening.

Hamza be a 6 alongside either braybrooke or page

Braybrooke can play as a 6 as well.

Anyone but Skipp in midfield for me and I think we will do well. Just offers too little.

Decent afternoon out, nice to see Seagrave for the first time. Players looked fit, even the warm down for the players coming off at half time was intense and everyone of them looked shattered

Mr Vardy in attendance with his family,

Only downside I had a Jon Motson/Statto person behind me who gave a running commentary all game, wish I had a mute button 🤣

Couldn’t watch, but was most intrigued to see where Alves played today, to have a good performance in an attacking midfield role is very encouraging, maybe that’s the right spot for him moving forward.

He was an 8, along with Page. Both dropped deep and were picking up the ball then progressing it forwards. Alves the more proactive of the two, felt like he knitted our attacks together really well, and rewarded with two nice goals. I think he operates really well in those sort of half spaces, kind of box-to-box but mainly attacking/creating.

For those of us old enough to remember Riley Carr is a great name for a speedy player

I was born in Leicester but for about the last 30 years have lived in Hertford. Moved here for work in the 90s (Tesco Head Office etc).

Riley was quite the star for Hertford Town FC:-

Born in Stevenage - so a local lad.

Interestingly Oliver Skipp went to a private school just down the road from me in Bengeo (Hertford) - which my son also attended. Skipp also played for Bengeo Tigers as did my son.

I know Stevenage pretty well and Hertford a little bit. My grandson is a Stevenage fan. We both can't believe we are now in the same division

Teachers Pet, hopefully means he gets a decent amount of game time.

Granted, could only go off highlights, but promising signs on Otchere and Hutchinson, who both looked physically ready for league 1.

Glad for Alves too, needed something like today to just give him a boost - I’ve always felt he’s more at home centrally, surprised by his pace to get to the ball on his 2nd goal

Thanks mate.

The question I had coming into pre season was how he was going to be viewed by Russell, as he’s played a mixture of attacking midfield and wing, but to see him start in a 8/10 role, scoring and putting in arguably the best display of the afternoon, hopefully that’s an encouraging sign moving forward.

If that’s how he’s viewed going forward, then makes me think do we even need Conor Chaplin if he signs, unless Russell sees him in a different position or BDCR is on his way out, which is probably doubtful.
