This is what we’re still up against lmao Skipp who has been angling at a move to Boro and Reid who’s just happy collecting a wage, at least they give a shit though

Im not his biggest fan, but do you not see the contradiction in what you posted hear about BDCR?  I mean, if he was just happy collecting a wage he wouldn’t  have been  running around so much

Negatives - Coudibaly, Okoli and BDCR all shocking and shouldn't be anywhere near the side. Faes was tidy but we all know when he presses the button he will be toxic.

Positives - Young lads looked really good on the whole, Will Alves outstanding cameo, Braybrooke really steady, I think Evans was maybe trying a little too much to impress.

Overall - Some really good neat passages of play, first half in particular we were very good. If they carry on and develop in this mindset with this sharp energy we will do well this season. Hopeful we can drain the swamp a little more and make a couple of hunry additions, players with points to prove, like old times. If McCarron has been given the reigns hopefully recruitment will improve.

Bit unfair on Otchere and Hutchinson who both impressed.

Would like to see Hutchinson be given a chance down the middle next game, looks like an absolute unit.

Winks there but not playing so hopefully he’s on a flight away quite soon.

No Silko at all - knock or is he one like Cartwright that Martin has decided isn’t part of plans and is on way out?

Faes and Okoli to manage out the club next.

Anyone who watched know how Alves and Page were in the side together? I saw it mentioned Alves was at 10, which I thought it where Page would be. Or did Page play deeper? In which case, is Page and Braybrooke realistic together given experience or lack there of?

Page played deeper as an 8 and was really effective at moving the ball quickly up the pitch albeit he did lose the ball in dangerous areas a couple of times.

Always worked hard to make up for it when he did lose it though.

Personally I would be happy to see Page and Braybrooke as the 2 midfielders. Better than Skipp being in there as he slows it down too much. Choudhury was good as well to his credit.

Interesting how we all have different takes. I thought Woyo was ok but looks a bit scrappy. Clear patterns of play and quick transitions out from the back.  My list:

Positives:

Alves on a different level. Actually fear he shouldn't be playing at this level and would be worried about him going if this continues. Riley was a joy to watch, Wilson-Brown looked good and Ochere looked decent. Thought Page (apart from his corners) and Braybrooke were 'OK' but a level behind Alves. Nothing to really save but thought Vietes was positive. I liked Aluko who played a difficult role.

Not Sure:

High hopes for Evans but he struggled. Commentators were saying Opoko looked good but im not sure i agree. Woyo ok but scrappy, and Hamza and Luke were a bit anonymous but tidy.

Not convinced:

Nelson disappointed me. Think Hutchinson looks like he is still away from the this level but nice shot at the end. Been a supporter of Jakub but it looked like watching him last season still. Other than the goal Mavididi still looks leggy.

Bin:

Okoli simply awful. Thought Wout was crap (and clearly not playing the same style as everyone else). Bobby looked about 2 levels down from Alves and i thought Skipp continues to be a player who can't succeed at any level.

I like this but think Page/Braybrooke/Alves are competing for two spots unless Alves moves out wide. Think it’ll be Choudhury or a new signing as an out and out defensive mid

Fair play to him he was running around a bit

Couldn’t watch, but was most intrigued to see where Alves played today, to have a good performance in an attacking midfield role is very encouraging, maybe that’s the right spot for him moving forward.

Think you're a bit harsh on Hutchinson and too kind on Coulibaly.

Thought Hutchinson looked strong and technical, had a nice moment where he took it around a defender and also had that strong shot that you mentioned. From my view it would have been very difficult to do much more with Coulibaly having a disaster behind you and Opoku/Cordova Reid in the middle offering nothing to work with.

All could change but looks like his initial thinking is Choudhury / Skipp if he stays deep lying midfielders and then 2 of Alves Braybrooke Page in the 8 roles. Chaplin if he comes in one of the wide forward positions. You’d hope we’ve got 2 decent RB options in Aluko and Joseph for this level. Squad clearly needs strengthening a lot through the spine though. GK, CB, a better number 6 pivot and CF positions critical.
