Usual FT outlook for this time of year :” if we win the pre season friendlies,, we were only playing … and will have a poor season: if we lose, then we are going to get relegated. The players don’t look fit.”  They are in the process of getting fit and should be ready at full fitness for the start of the season, a few weeks away. Ditch the negativity, and stop wishing for bad stuff to happen just so you can say we shouldn’t have got RM. I don’t like his style of football particularly, but I don’t want to see City in a bad position just to please the doom and gloom merchants.

Now to get rid of Rudkin.......

In theory he is more removed from the day to day running of things, but who knows. We can live in hope his promotion is taking him out of day to day operations because the weasel hasn’t got the balls to get rid of him.

I’m still not overly positive. I think there has been such a rot the last 2 seasons that it takes quite a turn around from winning 20 games over 2 seasons and doubt relegations to a side that will win 30 or whatever is needed to go up.

However, whilst I have not yet seen enough to shift my overall view of the season coming to positive, there are things starting to happen that look positive as steps.

The outgoings are a positive. If we are to shift the mentality and rot from a losing one to a winning one, turnover is key. We have been held back for years now by this same crop of failures. Seeing the likely of Ayew and Daka go on a free and now managing to shift Winks and VK is great. If Vestergaard and Faes could follow this goes a long way towards clearing these experienced but rotten characters. The movement of some youngsters who likely won’t make it has been good as well. It suggests lessons are being learnt and maybe a sign of McCarron’s involvement.

I need to see more from an incomings perspective to be convinced. It’s all very well getting the above lot out but wasted if we replace them with similar. I don’t mind the Ings, McCarthy and Chaplins signings if they are good characters and more the Pearson’s experience type signings. What we then need is to see the signings with development potential follow. We have some good youngsters and if these experienced signings come, we just need those middle ground where they are of a good age but ready to hit the ground running.

Have to say, so far youngsters like Carr, Otchere and Hutchinson haven’t looked out of place at all against league 2 opposition. Could be really useful squad players for the season.

Hoping to see Braybrooke and Page in the same midfield soon

You're seeing a lot of positivity? I'm seeing completely the opposite. The only thing people seem to be positive about is that we never have to watch ***** like Winks and Ayew play for us again.

Clearly you read his post wrong

Clearly I didn't. Their general point was that they have have several people being positive about the upcoming season. I responded by saying that I haven't seen many people being positive about the upcoming campaign. Most of the comments I've seen have been negative, particularly about the managerial appointment we've made. The only thing people seem to be positive about is not having to watch players like Ayew and Winks.

I'd suggest that you clearly misunderstood my post.

Actually hired a manager earlier, far earlier than we all expected regardless to wether it was an appointment we didn’t want, we got him in early

2 better pre season friendlies than last years

and some much needed brilliant outgoings

and some actually decent younger players to hopefully prove a point

Signs as others have mentioned that our Sporting Director seems to be having a positive influence

Can’t be arsed to get bogged down with the usual negativity on Rudkin and the ownership, nothing new to be said on that so why bother??

That’s probably all I’ve got in the locker at the moment, but it’s a start I guess

With respect, you do seem to have gone in quite OTT there. Looking at the comments on the first page before yours at the top of the second, there’s a lot of balance stuff there with some cautious positivity about areas such as the organisation being a bit improved, the shifting out of players and the youngsters we expect (Braybrooke, Alves, Page, Aluko) and hope (Carr, Hutchinson etc) to play either big or supporting roles in the season.

But we do need to see what else the rest of pre-season brings. We still haven’t brought anybody in, despite rumours some are close. As per my post above, we will need to see some that aren’t older heads and bring hopefully some players more towards their peak. I’d love to see a Tolaj type for example. Show we mean business picking some better players from this league but who knows what the finances will allow.

Basically, cautious positivity about certain areas whilst highlighting what we still need to see is as good as you will get at this point. I haven’t seen people criticising fitness. Surely people realise where we are in pre-season? Fitness has been a huge issue over the past seasons though so it’s natural we will be looking at this area and seeing whether we can tell a positive difference.

New season,  new manager, shifted players, new incomings (hopefully more). I love the club, loved what KP did but can also be upset, want change in ownership and still love the club more than anything except my wife and kids  (perhaps that is debatable lol).

No matter who owns us, who plays for us I always want us to win.

Last few  seasons have been tough but got to believe! Hope we win the league or at least make the playoffs. No reason why we cant!

In the first 2 pre-season games we actually seem to have a plan and an identity, something we've not had since Enzo left. People might not like the possession game, but when the speed is mixed up, as it has been in patches in the friendly games it's very easy on the eye.

Page looks like he'll play an important role.

The Sporting Director has got to work pretty rapidly on outgoings, something we've not done well for a long time.

The level of intensity and professionalism in training sessions appears to have gone up, alot.

Some of the wasters from the last couple of seasons are gone and never to be seen again.

The new away kit is a beauty.

The youngsters in general in the 2 pre season games have looked really promising and are easy to get behind.

Perhaps I should have posted my comments on the Bristol Rovers page as that was where the fitness comment was. I’m an optimistic person and look forward to finally having a decent season. Probably based on fresh blood coming in and the young lads a year older and stronger. Also the disappearance of some of the wasters from last couple of seasons. Just hope that the fans at the games at least start with support for all of the players.

Too many negative nellys on this forum who have already written us off before the season even starts.

We are already shipping out crap or ineffective high earners thats a positive.

Likes of Daka, Ayew, Winks, Christensen already gone more to follow.

Youngsters being given a chance to shine, good I say.

Id take a season of even mid table mediocrity in league 1 and survival over paying high earning dross, with ridiculous long contracts who we cant shift.

I for one am willing to give Martin n the team my upmost support this season,

In fact there are too many keyboard warriors on this site who always spout their negative shite.

I actually question if they are Leicester fans at all.

I agree comments in fitness aren’t needed just yet but we do need to see improvement.

I think there seems to be a lot more to be positive about over the past couple of days. Finally seeing some outward movement and you’d expect inwards movement to follow as the dominoes fall.

I’d say this and some of other other threads currently due show that the fans, even those of us who want the owner out, will responding positively to positive actions and signs, and not be negative for the sake of it. It seems we also have quite a turnaround of fans this season with more young supporters maybe.

That said, people like Linda Ginetta posting stuff like being proud to have had Harry Winks wear the shirt is plain daft and done to aggravate other fans, given the lack of popularity for the player in question. So there is more than one way to be a negative supporter I’d say.

You probably won’t be happy unless we do go bust.

The way our muppets have been running the club for years it on the cards. We will not be safe until we get new owners.
