Let's just wait and see. The squad is going to be massively different by the time the window shuts. The club and the key decision makers are still in shambles, so yes, it's safer right now to assume that everything we do/players we sign are 'bad' until proven otherwise.

But ultimately any kind of prediction right now is entirely pointless, when we don't even know what the team/squad will look like

The main reason to be positive is that we're getting rid of players quickly and getting paid for it. I was convinced we'd go this season with the bad eggs still here.

Chaplin seems like it will be a good signing for the level and, on reflection, I can live with Danny Ings on a one year deal. You'd expect the pair of them to get goals at this level.

The next major thing for me is keeping hold of Louis Page. I think he could have a fantastic season and we should be doing all we can to make sure he's happy.

After that, we'll need wingers seeing as it looks like we're going into the season now with only one recognised wingers in Decordova-Reid (and he's someone we should be looking to get rid of).

I’m not overly positive but we have an exciting crop of good young players and we are getting rid of the plonkers one by one who have underperformed over the past few seasons.

I think in life there are generally some people that like to be negative about everything and that spills into LCFC too, even when there might be some positive signs, some people are just programmed like that.

Think it’s probably best for everyone to reserve judgement after 10 games in and once the transfer window is shut.

The only positive for me is we have a good crop of youngsters that I think are currently League One level or good enough to at least make an impact & improve.

Braybrooke, Alves, Joseph, Aluko, Page, Carr, Otchere, Hutchinson & Gray (mistake for the goal but thought he was fine otherwise) Even Tommy Neale who looked comfortable yesterday.

I’d struggle to find anything else to really care about

For me, the place sounds and looks more organised than last June/July.

The two games so far have been much better than the first two pre season games last July.

We have passed it both slowly and sped it up nicely and seem to actually be pressing.

I have seen a lot of people highly positive about our upcoming season, predicting winning the league with 100+ points, etc.

I’m genuinely curious what the source of this positivity is? As far as I can see on the evidence of the past 5 or so years, we are a club in free fall and there is zero evidence that we have even slowed down the rate of that decline, nevermind stopped it and are on the up again.

The same decision makers are in charge, and we have now appointed a manager fresh off the back of two historically bad management stints, playing a similar style of play that helped us get into this trouble in the first place.

I think some of the "100+ points" posts on here were tongue-in-cheek!

There isn't really a source of positivity other than we've shed some of our toxic players, it looks like we have some good youngsters and surely it can't be any worse than last season!

We're selling a lot of the players that brought us here, it's a chance to start afresh, possession football is not too blame for our current position.

Plus, why go into the new regime negatively. If we produce poor performances and results then absolutely register your disappointment.

But to begin moaning? This country is full of people that just like complaining tbh

Why?

People have reached a level where the negativity however deserved is boring and toxic to their own health.

If we are having some of the youngsters in our team opening day, I think there’s some real hope for the future that people can get behind. Any success will be a little bit hollow but people desperately trying to find a way to enjoy watching LCFC again.

The club are going to be cheapskate as ever off the pitch and as a result, completely oblivious to actual matters but as we saw for a long time, if we are winning people generally don’t care

Btw the shirts, whilst not perfect, is an improvement. The sponsor is horrific but they’ve created a bit of buzz with it. Something they’ve bizarrely never done with a new shirt reveal/announcement. The home shirt has really grown on me, largely cos it’s blue and white with zero gold in it

At the end of the day, I can't be arsed drowning myself in negativity forever. Last season was miserable enough.

There are still plenty of questions to answer and things that need fixing, but there are at least some positive signs for a change. A manager in early, changes behind the scenes, players moved on quickly, promising youngsters getting opportunities, decent performances in pre-season, and even a couple of decent kits if they float your boat.

I'd rather give the club a chance to show it's learned from its mistakes than spend the whole summer expecting the worst.

I’m so far down the pit of negativity towards this club that I’m going to have trouble clawing my way out, even if something good happens.

Personally it feels like a massive weight has been lifted already, Daka and Ayew released, Winks and Kristiansen out the door in the space of a couple of days, reports that Vestergaard’s contract might be terminated. Slowly but surely the swamp is being drained. If Faes and Okoli follow, then we’ve got rid of pretty much every player that fans want shut of. If the likes of Choudhury, Mavididi and Skipp also leave in some capacity, then that will be a nice added bonus.

Some of the youngsters have performed well in pre season, so it’s been refreshing to see a bunch of players that I actually care about, put on a Leicester City shirt and play like they care too.

A lot will depend on recruitment going forward, and whether we assemble a squad that makes me excited.

But at this current moment, it’s just great to see that some of the players that have depressed us for the past few years, are finally on their way out.

Honestly, it much better for your mental health to put a lid on it and move on.

I think it can only really be manifesting and just hoping things turn.

The one thing I will say is we seem to be selling a bit better this time.

I've made peace with there being next to nothing I can enjoy in the next year at least though. Maybe if a couple of the young players really break out but on a game by game basis it'll be really bleak. Feels like everything to lose and nothing to gain.

Main thing is we're getting rid of some of the players I never wanted to see play for us again (Daka, Ayew, Winks) and have younger players that will hopefully get more of a look in now we've been relegated.

I do actually think Martin will prove himself over time and achieve more than what people expect. At this level he will be good for us.

Still not sure about Martin but time will tell. If he messes up he’s finished as a manager
