I've been impressed with both these youngsters in pre - season, but who will start at right back at Notts County or is there a way we can accommodate both?

Both of them I think have played left back before.

Aluko also last preseason really impressed me at centreback, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was to become his position at some point

46 games leagues, plus minimum 5 cup games including JPT, we are playing 51 games, more than likely more as I can see us getting thought a couple of rounds in both the FA Cup and League cup.

So plenty of chances for both.

Competition is good let them battle it out.

See who impresses in the last friendly and the Cup game.

I really like Aluko, so much pace & positivity so he's my choice at right back. if JJ can play left back then it's him or Woyo for left back.

Hopefully we can sell Thomas, if not he's a last resort

Aluko, Coulibaly, Thomas and Joseph as our full backs this season.

Full back position is sorted.

Hello its Jon Rudkin here, are you sure we don’t need to sign a RB who is a 32 year old Championship journeyman and will have appearance clauses in his contract so Aluko and Joseph will have to sit on the bench :P

I’d have Aluko and Woyo starting

Think we need a left footer at LB, we are likely to come up against a low block consistently.

Having a LB with a right foot mean he generally comes inside, which narrows the pitch, we need to make the pitch as big as possible.

I really think Coulibaly showed he’s good enough to be our LB yesterday.

if I’m RM, I’d be so excited to have Aluko RB and Coulibaly LB. Both are athletic, good with the ball and are quick.

Luke Thomas and JJ are the cover for both of these players.

fullbacks are one of the positions we are already really strong in.

Going to play on a fair few narrow pitches though so width becomes a bit irrelevant then

Alway relevant.

No it isn't. If the pitch is really narrow, then simply having 11 players in any formation makes 'widening the pitch' impossible. And I'm saying that as somebody who would generally prioritise having wide players and also gets frustrated that teams never play wingers on their natural side just to mix things up from. time to time

Doesn't mean the wide players will be ineffective necessarily but the full backs aren't going to be creating space for them in those games. Plus I'd also say that based on current personal, success will be determined by how fluid the attack is in terms of positional rotation

It's not everything, but Aluko and Woyo give us a bit of much needed height.

And a lot of Pace coupled with the ability to get forward and effect games.

I think Aluko is going to be a big player before the seasons over and in demand.

I slightly lean aluko. But it’s great to have 2 strong options. I’m actually looking forward to having the papa johns trophy this season to take a look at more of our squad options

Needs another left back imo. All either predominantly right sided or Thomas.

with a squad of 18 - 22 year olds + skipp, choudhury, chaplin, mavididi and whichever centre back can't get the **** out of dodge i dont think people will look at us feeling they need to park tbe bus. I think they will all go for blood....

I'm all for giving the younger players a chance, but we do need some senior pros in the squad.

In League One the maximum squad size is 22 senior (over 21 years old) outfield players (goalkeepers are unlimited).... We currently have 11, and some of those are rumoured/expected to leave

Surely you'd  have to class Thomas and Coulibaly as senior pros?
